Called It

I said it in print and on the air before it happened. What the cultobush would say about this Dick Cheney thing. Tonight I watched about 10 minutes of H&C(once the promo for what was coming up aired I got nauseous and turned it off). I said it would be the poor republicans getting beat up on by the bad bad liberals and liberal media. Kate o bierne and Hannity. Right on cue.

Which leads me to a point. Most of us probably don't play this little game but it really is pretty easy. Their strong point is also their weak point. They have boiled things down to their most elemental. Push hard and keep repeating a message over and over again, even if it's not true. Pretty soon it is common wisdom. However this type of common wisdom can be pretty easily preempted. We can take their predictable view and have the first shot at defining the issue.
Defining the issue with their desired framework is what has fenced us in for so long..Break on through to the other side!

It comes down to it this. I can very reliably tell you what the cultobush position will be on any given issue. To do that with me..or any (other)real person is not so easy. Especially if you predict I will take the straight liberal view on everything. I'm a populist, in the traditional sense. They would be wrong in their predictions far more often than I.

For conservative readers who happen to have wandered from the reservation, this is why people find it ever harder to think of you more than cultobush. You are so damned predictable!
Slavish in your devotion. There is nothing better than the firm"leadership" offered by our to be revered leader. Allow him to do anything in name of "protecting" us cuz you know he is a Godly, good man.
I'm sorry for breaking the, whatever its name is rule, but the comparison to fascism is so boldly undeniable.

OH NO !

Digby, He be da man!!

OK, folks, I think I got enough information here to tell you about the contents of this fax that I got. Brace yourselves. This fax contains information that I have just been told will appear in a newsletter to Morgan Stanley sales personnel this afternoon... What it is is a bit of news which says... there's a Washington consulting firm that has scheduled the release of a report that will appear, it will be published, that claims that this shooting took place in an apartment owned by Lynn Cheney, and the body was then taken to the ranch. This needs to be looked into. And if it's determined to be an accident it needs to be looked into again. And again.

While you are there read other stuff on this blog. This is one of my very favorites. I think you will find him quite insightful and full of common sense....and maybe even a little Real America "Ronesk"...for good reason.

Sunday Editorial

Angry

Lots of handwringing from the right about those angry leftys. At this point in our history if you aren't angry you should be ashamed of yourself and your love of this country. We haven't found the anthrax sender(attacks in DC only went to Democrats). No dead or alive, hunt him down, make him pay, hear from us, Osama. No weapons of mass destruction. Although fox news has found another shill to say they went to Syria. Yep sure, thanks to all that intelligence we got from Iraqis we got into a war to achieve THEIR(INC) purposes. It's bullshit! It is also hearsay that is being used in the book where the claim comes from. The Kay and Dulfer investigation said they didn't even have the capacity to produce them. How could one possibly believe them this at this point with mountains of evidence that point to otherwise?.. Torture and the claim of justification to violate international law. Turning our country into a pariah around the world. All the phoney intelligence used and all the cases against war ignored. Dick Cheney pushing the outing of a CIA agent(who by the way has been confirmed as undercover, a point not the facists are willing to admit.) Debasing every military persons service that runs against them with lies or wildly misleading statements while at the same time being war avoiders themselves. Highly questionable elections. ..Huge debts and billions missing and unaccounted for. That is YOUR money that is missing and you will be expected to pay a larger percentage of it because of the tax cuts for the rich and wealthy corporations. Katrina, proving these guys are not prepared and care little about a national emergency. What if it was a terrorist attack? Would they care then? Would they have acted more swiftly? Would they have lied about not knowing? The K street project and politicans for sale. And....the one that should be the kicker for everybody who believes in our Constitution. The presnit usurping the power of Congress by assuming unchecked legislative power. The most amazing part of this is the people defending the presnit are, by and large, the same that continually complain about judical "activisim". My question is...If you aren't angry that this all continues to go on, with no one fired, no one held to account...WHY THE HELL AREN'T YOU ANGRY, IT'S PITCHFORKS AND TORCHES TIME!!!!! Save our republic!

Coffee Table

Bad news isn't wine. It doesn't improve with age. – Colin Powell, American Army General and Former Secretary of State

Speak your peace.

Bushs' Army

Well, I always thought that the US military belonged to all of us but I see I misunderstand the American Spirit again.

At the same time, the Bush administration is going directly to the public with its war message. Raul Damas, associate director of political affairs at the White House, has been on the phone directly to Republican county chairmen to arrange local speeches by active duty military personnel to talk about their experiences in Iraq. To some Republican members, this unusual venture connotes a desire to go directly to the people to sell the president's position without having to deal with members of Congress.

No that's not scary. How many more of the signs of fascism will have to be reveled before the robots fail to fall in line. This has never been the way we do things. Warning!!!! These people are not Real Americans!!! These are corporate aristocrats who want to own you. If you can't your brain around that then you shall reap the consequences. The sad part is how much more will you have to reap before you get mad?

Bad Day For Dick

Every country has it's evil, disgusting people. In Iran right now he is the President. In my opinion in America we have Tom DeLay and Dick. Karma is slowly catching up to bugman and now it seems that karma has approached the Dick.

Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and injured a man during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, his spokeswoman said today.
Harry Whittington, 78, was "alert and doing fine" after Cheney sprayed him with shotgun pellets on Saturday while the two were hunting at the Armstrong Ranch in south Texas, said property owner Katharine Armstrong.
Armstrong said Whittington was mostly injured on his right side, with the pellets hitting his cheek, neck and chest, and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Whittington was in stable condition today, said Yvonne Wheeler, spokeswoman for the Christus Spohn Health System.

They might want to think about those NRA hunter safety courses again.

I love the title to this story. Cheney should be probed for leak.

WASHINGTON -- Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald should investigate Vice President Dick Cheney and others in the CIA leak probe if they authorized an aide to give secret information to reporters, Democratic and Republican senators said Sunday.
Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., called the leak of intelligence information "inappropriate" if it is true that unnamed "superiors" instructed Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, to divulge the material on Iraq.
Sen. George Allen, R-Va., said a full investigation is necessary.
"I don't think anybody should be releasing classified information, period, whether in the Congress, executive branch or some underling in some bureaucracy," said Allen, who appeared with Reed on "Fox News Sunday."

Interestingly George Allen is the kingmakers choice for Presidental Nominee. The heir apparent. Of course the "goose/gander" argument will be made on whoever reveled the warrantless wiretaps. These two issues are not equivalent. Well, they are in one way...The wiretaps case brings out law breaking by the administration. The Dick case brings out.......law breaking by the administration. Watch the sheeple try to eqate them otherwise. I guarantee it.
