I see a bronze bust of Bush in his TANG uniform was unveiled on Thursday at the national Air National Guard headquarters.

I wasn't going to write any more, but could not let that go unremarked, it made me so angry!!

My article is titled "A Coward Cast in Bronze." It will be up in a day or two, I imagine.

Local and State Politics if anyone is interested. A shameful event Friday as the House Ag and Water Committee voted 4-3 in tabling the medical MJ bill. This was the committee to which the bill was assigned after passing overwhelmingly in the Senate, where Sen Adair voted for it. Apparently, it was assigned to this committee so it Would be tabled. Now people who become ill with the pain treatment for their cancer and AIDS will have to suffer nausea and other side effects because some Neanderthals (Democrats included) caved in to the threats from some fed "law enforcement" types who said users would be arrested. Apparently, these true welfare bums are interested only in their federally guaranteed jobs that lets them go after harmless victims rather than real criminals (after they might get hurt going after real criminals). Again let they and their families have incurable illnesses with unbareable pain come upon them, as such whores and cowards deserve it.
Also, from Santa Fe, it now appears that the minimum wage bills are in trouble. Unless 6 of the 8 uncommitted Democrats vote for some version of the bill, it will not pass. Sen. Tim Jennings is one of these. Call him. If Democrats are more interested in their political careers and media images than they are in supporting Progressive issues then don't support them, maybe not even vote for them. One bright note, the "liberal press" Albuquerque Journal had a wonderful Ed Page Cartoon in Sunday, February 12th paper. No doubt blasphemy to the prevailing Roswell ideology, but then so much of the prevailing Roswell ideology is blasphemous to the truth.

If any of you can watch it, last night's Daily Show was one of the funniest things (the first 12 minutes or so) you will ever see. Stewart said it was so easy it almost made him want to give back his check. IF you don't get the comedy channel, you can probably download the segment. It will air again today at 6 my time, (I think.)

"A Coward Cast in Bronze" is up.

Anyone familiar with an event in Turkey that is causing much backlash: the Bag Incident? Seems some time ago U.S. forces had some members of Turkish Special Forces (supposed allies) walk with bags over their heads where they could be seen by Turkish citizens. Apparently, more to the story, but does anyone know about the details?

Update on the Bag Incident. Seems this has to do with a real incident some 2 1/2 years ago that has deeply offended Turkey. But the real firestorm on this concerns a movie in which this incident is portrayed: Valley of the Wolves - Iraq. It's aspparently become the biggest grossing film of all time in Turkey. It Presents the War in Iraq Portraying the Americans as the Bad Guys. This of course is nothing different than our own Rambo-style propaganda pieces of getting all those bad Middle Eastern types for the last few decades. But the right wing blogs that are addressing the movie have gone Insane. Don't believe me,then read them. They act just like the participants of hate in Orwell's 1984. Of course now the Middle Eastern nations are starting their own high tech agit-prop. But we still have the bigger military and national force, for now anyway. Reading such reminds me of a culture, an ideology and maybe even a nation in its last throes in the bunker; surrounded by enimies imagined and real (the biggest real one being themselves)and being driven mad and destroying themselves. Let's hope that the reasonable and intelligent ones in our nation can keep this from happening, mainly by getting rid of the us and them war mentality. Prop and movies showing the Americans as the bad guys are nothing new, just tune in to Univision or Telemundo sometime and watch movies about Pancho Villa, the U.S. Mexican War, Mexican Revolution, etc. If we keep thinking in terms of us and them nations and tribes only the powerful and evil can "win".
The movie is now beginning in Europe and supposedly will be shown later in the U.S., will see.

URGENT:Let's be real America, portrayed as the "bad guy"??? Come on folks are we really sandbagging our heads??? has anyone seen the most recent photos taken re abu graib???These photos were not staged on some hollywood movie set...they were taken in the prison and the folks portrayed were certainly not actors...on both sides!!! How dare anyone in our country sit back and allow our country to blatanly trash human rights in a country we are claiming to liberate...torture-de-humanizing-degrading the human souls depending on us for the so called liberation from Saddam Hussein??? There are not enough words in any language's vocabulary to emphasize the horror of guantanno. and abu.
The entire world is once again shocked and awed at what our once glorified and decent country has turned into...are these the last days??? who is the anti-christ??? Any person, regardless of religious affiliation can take these questions into consideration and I believe we would all come up with one and the same answer...but only if we have not yet lost our own integrity amongst this global holocaust for which the great USA is responsible for inflicting...I encourage everyone out there in USA land to subscribe to or ask a friend to tape free speech tv and link tv, they are presently on dish that i am aware of and do have...the documentaries put forth the hidden truths and reveal the propoganda the bush admin. has perpetrated on the global communities...by the way the estimate of 100, 000 iraqis dead is completely incorrect---during the month of July-2005 alone in Baghdad, the city morgue accounted for in its' possession 1, 100 individuals...multiply this figure by all the surrounding villages, towns, countries etc. and the estimate alone for July-2005 is closer to 4,000, multiply this figure by 12 months and in just this past year the number of dead iraqis totals above and beyond the 100, 000 dead estimate the bushies have claimed...so my dear fellow country men and women---these blinders that have been attached to our eyes via the neo-cons, need to come off and now, not later...for if we continue to permit this holocaust, there will reach a point of no return from the depths of ruination and global disaster awaiting us---God is patient, He is merciful and loving, He does not approve of what our USA is doing and continuing to do globally in the name of money, oil and extreme levels of greed, never seen before...have been researching much stuff this weekend and can not believe just how serious this situation has become...the phrase everywhere seems to read-God bless America, it should be reading may God HELP and FORGIVE America, come on people where has our humanity gone???Do we no longer have a conscience??? I prayed tonight for those suffering under this political oppression the USA is responsible for--hope you will to, before our time is run out...educate, educate educate ourselves, unite and move forward, stand behind those few stronghearted politicians raising themselves above the bush admin. monstrous threats and abuses of force...look for the truth and stand up for the right, before we no longer will say to each other---GOODNIGHT...

PSS Democat (deceased), Maniacs Donkey and Houndog---we need to listen to one and other and begin to take action from our levels here in Roswell, NM---great things have happend in the strangest places on earth---Bethlehem, Israel some 2500 years ago---remeber what humanity stands for and unite and ally to end this evil dressed in garb of deceit---evil in its' most basic form...

Well said, Writer. I often think that the reason I am so angry at those who support The Bu$h League is that I am afraid of what the near future may bring to me and to my children or at least to my future grandchildren. Ever since 9/11 when the flags came out and started "blasting" things have spiraled out of control, but the sheep who have been brainwashed into thinking Bu$h is a saint seem determined to make Armagedon come about. Even if St. John's prophesy is true, I believe that we have a choice since God gave us free will. These fanatics will not be taken up to Heaven because there is no such thing as the rapture, but a lot of innocent people will suffer if this comes to pass. At the very least, The Ameri-Fascists are getting an ever stronger grip on the nation and the world. Is this what our grandfathers fought for in WW II-to have an American Hitler spreading propaganda and hate in a quest for world dominance? Jesus/The Apostles said we had to stand up to these people. I have said it before. What better way for The Anti-Christ to come and deceive the faithful than in the guise of a Christian?
As for listening to one another, we don't have to fight and I hope I am done "fighting" with you know who to whom I am persona non grata, now (after my comments about emotional repression, etc.-sigh). We're all gonna do what we're gonna do. Don't ask why. As I said before, the heart has its reasons that know nothing of reason. I will continue to pray for Ron and the success of his show, tho.
Peace, Y'all!

Seems to me that you call everyone on the show your friend, including the conservatives after you fight with them. That's just your radio show personality, Ron.
You could email Linda and Bruce, yourself, if you really miss them.
Speaking of emails, it's really nice the way you don't answer yours. How hard would it be to type thank you and hit reply when you get an e-card? You've made it pretty clear you mean to keep your distance from your fans. Probably remaining detatched helps you keep your objectivity. Let's leave it that way. :-)
Also, I think Cody Posey should be sentenced as a juvenille because the allegations of abuse are likely true. For someone who admits to having tried almost every kind of drug in his hippie days, you have very little empathy for those who commit crimes. Or did you forget that using illegal drugs is considered a crime?

Meow hiss hiss..I see you are still listening.:-)
I don't consider victimless crimes, whatever they may be, as something that should be against the law. So no I don't see those people as criminals. Criminals hurt others, in my book.
I never really thought about "fans". I just think of people as listeners and, at least generally equals.I'm not after "fans". Just reasoned people to talk with on the show. Yes, I consider all who decide that they want to be friendly my friends.
I must admit I am not a social person. I am keep to myself for reasons that the world need not know but I would tell YOU if you were interested.Let's just say it is a character defect that I am aware of.
Also the talk show is one small part of my job. I am a program and music director for one of our stations. I do a morning show from 6-9 live before the talk show starts. I also voice the afternoon for the Fox, do production, remotes etc. It bothers me greatly that I can't focus for perfection on one task but reality insists otherwise.
You and others are free to do as you choose and feel as you wish. I do the best I can and admittedly that's not perfect.I don't beg but alway am willing to have an open door to anyone.

Greetings from the frozen North. And boy was it frozen when I got here a week ago today! It was 7 below zero at 3 p.m. and had been 20 t0 22 below the night before and the night after.

In the north, as elsewhere, it has been unseasonably warm MOST of the winter, but not last week.

This is the first time I have checked in. Taking care of 3 kids 3 and under does not allow much "personal" time. A little to read a little bit of my sites, but no time to write. Right now only the baby is awake, and she is in her swing.

I got two e-mails warning me about my truck from people who have read some of my articles and know about it, because a guy in Idaho had a problem with HIS (also decorated) truck. A Homeland Security chap came to talk to him. Tried to tell him he was breaking the law. BUT, he was smart enough to take a co-worker with him to talk to the guy AND a tape recorder. And if you read what the guy said (from the tape) you know it is bs (so far.) If these fascists continue in power, it may not be bs much longer. I will put the link up in a post. Should have copied the link before I started writing, but didn't know I was going to write about it.

Molly Ivins wrote a good column about the port thing. She said it is because it is a corporation owned by a company -- THAT is the problem. Corporations have no soul, and their only loyalty is to profit, which, of course, cannot be good for national security, no matter WHAT country the corporation is owned by. DUH!!
Under Bush/Cheney, our government is being run of/by/for corporations, and members of the administration (Rumsfeld is making a bunch off of Tamiflu and members of the Bush family are getting filthy rich off the war, some members of congress are getting rich as well) are profiting from everything this administration does. But the average people -- the people government is meant to protect, and the environment -- are getting the shaft.

Hope everyone is doing okay. I will be back in about two weeks.

This is the link, and it includes transcripts of the taped conversation with the Homeland Security agent. See if YOU think the guy with the truck was breaking any law.

I have mentioned before that AS LONG as I can still have my truck in this country, I will not think we are in TOO bad shape. There is no obscene language or anything on it. A lot of it is quotations of real war heroes -- Butler, Eisenhower, MacArthur, Bradley. BUT, what they say does not support the war and so implicitly does not support the "Coward Cast in Bronze," and so, in a fascist state, would be treason.

Ron, I'll put in my part on this. Maybe people don't realize it but media personalities have to seperate their private lives from their publics lives as much as possible. Even, or perhaps especially so, in a town the size of Roswell. Otherwise, you run the risk of being hit on by all manner of people who want to use you, even if some don't realize it, among them the bleeders. This is because you are a voice and an image for communications. Or so I have been told by and have observed in more than one person in the radio industry. You know they have even made movies about this kind of thing.

Cody Posey!!! Yes, prayers are indeed answered...After observing the entire trial being covered on courttv, anyone using a fragment of the 10% of brain power we most often utilize could grasp the facts that this boy suffered intense abuse of the most horrid kind. The fact that CYFD was called on several times to intervene and did not properly conduct an invstigation asserts the inadequacies of the protection of children in our society today. After years of exposures of the injustices related to the subject of childhood abuse, the system still has not got it!!! However in this case, may God shed His blessings on Judge Counts along with all those supporting Cody during this tragic time. Many have alluded to the death of MaryLea, Cody's stepsister as unforgivable, well it is unforgivable, but the souls that carry the burden of that young girls' death is not that of Cody Posey, but of his father Paul and his stepmother Tryone...
There were way too many characters entering this plot that witnessed the abuses at different periods of this boy's life for the accusations to be fraudulous. Upon addressing the court before Judge Counts announced his decision to hold Cody responsible as a juvenile, Cody admitted that he was not aware of any feelings of emotion that he should be feeling...how is a child who was never nurtured properly supposed to develop emotions??? This was a terrible system flaw and thankfully Judge Counts had the wherewithall to order a sensible conclusion to this tragedy...yes, the loss of three lives is sad and serious, however---lessons need to be learned here about what this society has allowed children to face on their own. The system can not afford to lose, when a child's life is at stake, there can be no mistakes, no neglect etc. Only prompt, careful and caring intervention. Unfortunately for the Posey family this advice learned is too late in manifesting itself...maybe for others it will be a learning mechanism that could possibly alter the course of tragic events contrary to those played out on this stage...there are no douts re the abuse, the doubts lie wherein the systemic flaws of a system that by now in this country should be a respected model for the world community...strange how we have soooooooooooooo many dollard to spend on the destruction of the cradle of civilisation and yet CYFD claims it lacks the necessary funds to meet it's obligations re the safety of what should be our most treasured possessions, our future, our own kids!!!
DC listening to the show too, miss the maniacs as well, the substitute, while well meaning, does not hold my interest for many seconds either...these days there are so many real events and situations that we need to focus on, other than our our own personal past and present news blurps...glad you and ron are communicating, gosh, a dog and cat must always get along with each other, at least in my world---
miss you Lonna,stay warm...Peace---writer...

DC-I am quite honored to have ment something to liberals and progressives here. I think you see my purpose differently than I. You think, maybe because of my position, I should be a leader. I don't feel that way. I just want to be a part of the team. Maybe the one that can give everyone a kick in the pants and maybe to think of things in a different way. Maybe we will come up with a way that actually works!:-) John has actually left me pretty much alone. Don't put the blame on him. He comes in and talks sometimes but it's his radio station so he deserves that privledge. I would want it if it was mine. He's actually one of the few people in the country that would let a liberal on.. Don't worry about me. I don't hold grudges. You guys are always welcome or to stay away as you choose. Sometimes it seems like the best place to get the news is the Daily Show with John Stewart. His shows after the Cheney incident were among the funniest things I have seen in awhile.

The other day, talking about the ports, he showed a clip of that well-known conservative -- Jimmy Carter -- standing up for the port deal. If Jimmy Carter thinks it is not so horrible, then even if it does go through, I will feel better about it. A Bush apologist he is not.

The conservatives don't seem to mind that this president never knows anything about anything. They did not tell him who the shooter was (Cheney) for some time. He did not know about the port deal. He did not ask about what the situation in Iraq was likely to turn into after the war. AND, after they did call for an assessment, he ignored it because it was not what he wanted to believe.

Bill Clinton, for all his flaws, was always on top of everything. Even though the Republicans kept him distracted by going after EVERYTHING he did do. Including when he tried to go after bin Laden. He SURE would have come back to the White House before Katrina and would have been calling everyone to make sure they were on their toes. Bush could not be bothered. My guess is someone has to tell him he MUST do something before he makes himself do it.

From what I have read, he did nothing when he was on boards except tell dirty jokes and collect his check. That has been the story of his life. WHY would it change now? Do nothing and get paid. Do nothing and be in the National Guard. Do nothing in your business life -- be totally incompetent and get rich because Daddy's rich friends bail you out from your failures and get tax breaks for doing so. WHY WOULD Bush believe things might turn out badly?? They never have for him, so from his "frame of reference" one might see how he would believe the world works that way for everyone.

This is my last day of being caregiver. Good thing, or the headline you might read would be "grandmother goes berzerk" and does God only knows what. It is fun for a few hours a day. I would not do it 24/7 again (except in short stretches like this one) for anything!

Hi Diane!
You know I agree with you on Cody. I saw his uncle (brother to father)on TV bi*ching about him not getting a much worse sentence. I assume that he must've known Cody was being abused and did nothing to protect him. Possibly, HE should spend some time behind bars. I think he's totally hateful and looks like a stupid conservative redneck-just the type to support Bu$h who only pardoned one person in his 6 yr. as TX gov. and that was a serial killer.
Also, it is possible that Ron is not a hound dog (a whippet) after all, despite his interest in Tressica Simpleton and fitness/"Playboy" models. I will give him a break there. Obviously, he's not willing to be an alpha wolf either. :-( Oh, well, he's a Leo and since L & B have refered to him as a dandy guy, he can be The DandyLion. :-) ( Lions and cats may be related, but I tend to think the former WOULD devour the latter given the chance (esp. with cayenne pepper). LOL
I still think you're too loyal to John Dunce, Ron. Dedanna, one of his former employees, doesn't think much of him. It seems to me that you're probably better treated over at The Fox than at KPSA, but that's my opinion which doesn't count for much, I know. Anyway, I may just give up the blog/show for Lent-6 wk. ought to be enough time to beat my addiction, d'ya think? :-) Even tho, I don't see that we have anything to talk about, I will be nice and remove the block-just please no discussion of a certain topic and you don't need to send me updates on the blog. Take care always. :-)

OIC, it's the ever-so-often resurrection once again, just to vent, get the anger out, ok. That's cool. Maybe someday, Maniacs will make up their minds as to whether they're here or not. Got gas $ that I can't make in this shithole? Just kidding. I could use a break. This may be the way, who knows. Thx.

And, for everyone's info, Dedanna is neutral on JD -- she has to be, unfortunately. Sigh. She does have opinions, but only lets them go so far, and no further. Helps to keep one's objectivity as long as they can (until they're so pissed they want to blow up all over him lol).
