War on Christianity

I just saw John Kasich on Faux news. He did what amounted to a "war on christianity' piece. He said that the da vinci code going to the movies and the jesus judas thing that is coming up is somekind of war on peoples faith. My question is ..how?
How does it despel the basic premise of their tenet of how they should treat people and how they should use their daily life in service of the ways of God. That is the essence of their faith and they don't even know it!!!!!!!!!
It's a typical right wing divide and conquer red herring. Loving people of Christ. These people couldn't care less about you or your faith.

Is it a sign of the end times when Judas gets better press than Bush?

The Gospels indicate that Jesus knew what was going to happen which is why He said that the Temple (His body) would be destroyed and rebuilt in 3 days. He also talked to God in the Garden about whether or not He was really going to have to go through with it (the crucifixion-take this cup from my lips). If He had to be betrayed, then why not Judas? But then, did Judas really take the 30 pieces of silver back to The Temple and did he really hang himself? Cuz if he did, then we can suppose that he was a traitor. But,in the end what difference does it make anyway? The important thing is to remember and live by the Two Great Commandments-love God/Goddess (regardless of what name you call Him/Her) and your neighbor (and remember that ALL people regardless of color or creed are your neighbors). This is true of all major religions. The rest is just icing on the cake and I don't care what religion, if any, people follow as long as they're good. An Islamic who is a good kind loving person is a heck more likely to get into Heaven than most of the so called Christians in the Bu$h Administration and the talking heads (Limbaugh, etc.)

Re: my last comment-suppose I shouldn't joke about that after all my public criticism of C/O/the/MV, etc. LOL They'll probably throw copies of the "Harry Potter" series, "The Wizard of Oz" books, and the collected works of Michael Moore and Molly Ivins on the bonfire and kill 2 birds with one stone. (sigh)
My youngest son is currently having an argument with this kid who attends C/O/the/MV and who has been taught that Harry Potter is evil and that evidence of the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden will soon be found in Iraq. Still say that C/O/the/MV is a cult-right up there with Scientology and will Katie Holmes really be able to keep from making any noise at all while giving birth? LOL

The Donkey once had a pagan boss who refered to a certain church as "Cult on the move". The Donkey warned the pagan it was ill advised to continue to exercise his free spreach. The pagen did not listen to the Donkey and was soon fired. The reason was an allegation of disparaging remarks about the management.

The pagan is one of the more honest people the Donkey has known. He had served in the Army during the first Iraq war. The members of this certain church would talk behind his back and tell lies about him. Since the pagan is now gone, these same people obsess over why the Donkey will not visit their church.

By the way DC, Harry Potter is a servant of the devil with that science guy.

Lyman Frank Baum the wrote more than books of OZ. According to Wikipedia, "During the events leading up to the Wounded Knee Massacre, Baum wrote a racist editorial for the Saturday Pioneer stating that the Native Americans, whom he described as whining curs, should be completely annihilated.

After the Massacre he wrote a second editorial repeating his earlier opinion and criticizing the government for not taking even harsher measures: wipe these... untamable creatures from the face of the earth.

I've read all 6 books and I don't think Harry Potter is any more a servant of the Devil than Glinda the Good Witch of the North is, but I am surprised to hear that Baum was a racist. I elect to like his books, but hate his politics and his prejudiced views. Re: Harry Potter books, lots of Christian themes in 'em and they celebrate Christmas and Easter, too.
The Cult on the Move probably has hated me from the get go as I wrote a letter to the RDR re: the students wearing pentagrams controversy which explained the various meanings of the symbol, and which pretty much debunked their it's a Satanic symbol cr*p. I wouldn't go there for anything and often tempted to cross myself or give the sign to ward off the evil eye when I see one of their vans. LOL

Speaking of Christianity, may you and your loved ones have a wonderful time this Sunday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, THE PRINCE OF PEACE.
Happy Easter to all (even The Game)!

I'm a stone cold pagan, and believe very little in the Bible other than its basic principles (such as the ones that dc mentioned).

I don't care what people think about it -- I love Harry Potter, and others (Mists of Avalon, folks?) -- I'm not going to kiss ass to the "take over the world" Christian agenda.
