Random Thoughts

Well, todays show was a prime example of why I hope for more conservatives to call in. For those of you that missed it Mr. Feelgood called in with a story of someone who had been there that said Iraq wasn't that bad and why don't we talk about the "good things" that are happening. I'm not going to write a transcript here but let's just say the same old arguments are pretty readly disputed these days.
He also made a statement to the effect that Lady Bird Johnson once owned Halliburton and was among the largest of share holders. I have no idea what this had to do with anything and when I asked him neither did he. I did do some research though and I could find little connection to Mrs. Johnson and Halliburton. It seems LBJ sent lots of contracts Brown and Roots' way. They were a company in his district at the time.
As far as big money holders Halliburton is over 85% owned by institutional investors(mutual funds et al). The top ten holders are all of this type. I think the best way to own lots of Halliburton is to own lots of those big mutal funds. Which apparently is a part of Dick Cheneys plan.
What is really interesting here is this Lady Bird stuff which it turns out is at the very best marginally true is really popping up a lot just recently on rightie blogs. What's up with that?

Well, looks like you got a lot of trash posting. LBJ had connections with Brown @ Root going back to the 1930s. Your caller, who always finds plenty too complain about after saying we need to hear good news, is probably trying to connect Democrats with the Iraq War and Haliburton, etc. Too much to go into here but LBJ Was basically power hungry, but at least he supported bills that helped working American people: Civil Rights bills, Medicaid, Medicare, etc., unlike the even more power hungry global corporatists of today, nearly all Republican, who want everything for sale in the market place and don't care how many they impoverish.

Only because you chose to copy it...Really Game, I think you are not as hated as you might imagine. It is what you represent. You are a handy reference point. You notice I don't do it. I don't hate you at all. I think you are quite representitive of something that is something to be feared. No, not fear...concerned about. It's , to me, kind of like a political version of "tiger beat". It's the popular political culture. And people play it right to the top of our government. Who's cool and who's not. Who's patriotic who's not.Blah Blah Blah. I must admit to seeing a good deal of it on the left too. That is why I referenced those 3 blogs a while back. These blogs actually deal with issues and not Bill O Reilly sensationalisim. As a person that knows well the idea that anything you say is gonna piss somebody off I would suggest you don't worry about it. just be who you are in spite of it and try to grow everyday.

Article from Insight Mag. It appears derleader is tired of making decisions, and is going to leave them to his staff. Which would be GREAT if his staff were not so incompetent:

"President Bush has decided to stay out of the lion's share of decisions made by his administration.

Sources close to the administration said that over the last year, Mr. Bush has chosen to focus on two issues, leaving the rest to be decided by Cabinet members and senior aides. They said the issues are Iraq and the Republican congressional campaign in the 2006 elections.

"Lots of important issues that deal with national security are never brought to the president because he doesn't want to deal with them," a source familiar with the White House said. "In some cases, this has resulted in chaos."

The White House has acknowledged that Mr. Bush was not informed of the administration’s decision to approve a $6.85 billion takeover by the United Arab Emirates of a British firm that operates at least six major ports in the United States. The decision triggered a public firestorm and strong bipartisan opposition on Capitol Hill. This prompted the Dubai-owned company last week to bail on its bid to operate terminals in U.S. ports.

Vice President Dick Cheney also was not informed of the approval of the port takeover by the state-owned Dubai Ports World...

The sources said Mr. Bush's lack of involvement on most issues has led to numerous errors in judgment. They said the DP World episode was handled by the Treasury and Commerce departments. From there, the proposed sale was meant to have been relayed through the National Security Council for a White House decision.

"It should have gone to Karl Rove and then gone up the chain," the source said. "For some reason, it didn't. I don't think people understood how important this was in terms of both national security and politics."

Mr. Hunter and other members of the House Armed Services Committee were shocked over how little White House staffers knew of the security record of the UAE, cited in testimony to the 9/11 commission as having withheld cooperation regarding al Qaeda in 1999. Last week, Mr. Hunter and Rep. Jim Saxton, New Jersey Republican, brought evidence of how the UAE port of Dubai allowed shipments of nuclear components as well as heavy water and a precursor to nerve gas to countries such as Iran, Libya and Pakistan.

"The point is that if you are an outlaw regime, and you want to develop a nuclear weapons program, you have your components transshipped through Dubai," Mr. Hunter said. "Dubai is a master at masking both the recipient of illegitimate weapons systems and the party that is sending, developing, selling those illegitimate weapons systems. I don't think those are the folks you want to have running your ports."

Neither Mr. Bush nor any of his aides ordered a change in CFIUS deliberations that would stress the security aspect of any foreign investments or operations in the United States. Mr. Saxton said the 9/11 attacks by al Qaeda had virtually no affect on the process.

"The current system was designed, from what we can understand, to encourage foreign investment in our country," Mr. Saxton said. "And 9/11 changed a lot of things, and CFIUS didn't change. And I guess it changed in some respects. We added a representative from the Department of Homeland Security, but it was still under the leadership of the Department of the Treasury. And so the mission of CFIUS remains pre-9/11, while the situation in post-9/11 is much different..."

In a meeting on Wednesday, March 8, Mr. Bush and five GOP leaders argued over how to resolve the issue. Hours later, the House Appropriations Committee, in an amendment to funding the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, voted 62-2 to prevent DP World from holding leases or contracts at U.S. ports...

Even Joe Scarborough and Michael Savage have given up on this twit, but NOT the game. How sad.

Hey, Ron- you should see your horrorscope for today
Take a stand for truth and watch others agree with you, or something like that (except for Lame Game (I emailed Donkey and told him Game was back) )
Anyway, doesn't Ron take a stand for truth every day?
Speaking of people taking a stand, am getting PAC petitions to sign from the Democratic Party, Move On, etc. all in support of
Sen. Russ Feingold's call to censure The Bu$hrat for illegal wiretapping, so yes, Ron, we are supporting him, after all.
Speaking of Lame Game -maybe Donkey gave you that name because your thinking process must be handicapped or otherwise how could you support this horrible Administration, or maybe it's just because you can't keep up with
Donkey intellectually.
Anyway, got an email from my idol who is again working with Sen. Maria Cantwell to protect the ANWR and on energy issues. Call or email your senators and representatives and urge them to support the Kerry-Cantwell Amendment.

Hey Lame game:

Why don't you shrink your head and use it as a paperweight? It's not much use for writing intelligent posts with, that's for sure. The Donkey does not hate you. The Donkey just does not care what you think. It is a sad and lonely life if your only self esteem is dependent on how people, that you have never met, feel about you.
It seems your fingers not only did your typing, but did your thinking too. Have you considered suing your brain for non-support? You wouldn't know a clue if it walked up to you, bit you on the ass, and announced 'I AM A CLUE'. When you are at a loss for words, your loss is our gain. The Donkey is reminded of something relevant that Benjamin Disraeli said: "He was distinguished for ignorance - for he had only one idea and that was wrong."

Oh, Donkey, you made my day. :-)Keep 'em coming! LOL
And Lame Game, I don't like seeing the porn spam here either, but gotta wonder why if you object to it you felt the need to check it out and post the stuff, yourself. Ick!! And, no, RON, I'm not a puritan either, it's just that this kind of vulger and graphic filth demeans sex and makes an obscenity of making love, as I said before. I don't go to those kind of sites because I don't want to see it and I hope you delete Game's description of it. Jeez, how would you two like it if I described on your blogs how Tonio got it on with the Cardinal In Anne Rice's "Cry to Heaven"?
Change of subject here, I hear that Ron says that Kerry may be supporting Feingold-Yes!! I wish Jeff would, too, but that may be too much to hope for when he's up for re-election. (sigh)
Anyway, Happy St. Patrick's Day (tomorrow) to all, even Game!

Hear that we have dramatically increased our bombing of Iraqi insurgents (i.e. freedom fighters and helpless women and children). Pray for the Iraqi civilians tonight! If anyone needs our prayers it's these poor little Iraqi kids. So much for being pro-life MISTER Bush. {:-{

Hey Lame Game;

You are the one with the self admitted issues with self-esteen. If the Donkey had your brain , the Donkey would feel pathetic. You also do not lie well, you claim not to read the Donkey's posts, yet your own posts clearly show you do.

If you aren't an idiot, you made a world-class effort at simulating one. Try to edit your writing of unnecessary material before attempting to impress us with your insight. The evidence that you are a nincompoop will still be available to readers, but they will be able to access it more rapidly.

You are a wickedly narcissistic imbecile and a maladjusted, simple-minded dreg of the Internet. What possessed you to think that you were capable of being entertaining or interesting to read? It sounds like English; it even looks like English, but I can't understand a word you're blabbering. Try learning elementary grammar before attempting to inflict your next literary abomination on this comment board.

Most repair manuals are far more interesting than you, and far less turgid to read. Why don't you close your mouth before someone sticks an apple in it? Just when the Donkey thought he has read the stupidest post ever, you go and post another. Your post is an orgy of stultifying cacophonous verbal depravity; an exercise in literary impotence, and an offense to all of good taste and decency.

I am sure you have all read about Bush's "born again" man and how he stole from Target. It was quite clever the way he did it, really.

Is there anyone around Bush/Cheney who is honest or has any ethics? If so, the don't last long.

Russ Baker has written some good articles about Albaugh and some of the others.

Now Ashcroft is going to be a lobbyist. To help people get government contracts, of course. Since he has no business experience, one writer suggests it is to "consult" on how they can find their way around the laws.

Money runs the world, and the love of money is the root of all evil. Almost makes me want to start a commune where everything is bartar and almost no money is used in living.

If you don't want to read our "pathetic" posts, Game, then quit coming to our blog. No one's forcing you to come here. You must be a glutton for punishment or you would stay on your own dam* blog. And why Ron puts up with you sucking up to him and goes to your rightwing blog, I'll never understand. He needs to go back and look at all times you have insulted him and his intelligence.
He's so far above you that he needs eagle eyes in order to lower himself enough to talk to your kind.
