Must apologize for the infrequency of posting lately. I have more to focus on than i can do in the way that it should be done. For this I apologize. I don't like it but it is reality.

It seems like we may be going through a metamorphosis of types in this country. Hopefully the people are again becoming interested in just what the *%$#@ is happening. If so I think we must be ready to address their willingness and find a way to move this country forward. It's an important opening, I hope we don't screw it up.

Quite a few cities, now, have passed impeachment resolutions. Lapham, the editor of Harpers wrote a LONG article about it.

You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

This administration has totally run out of credibility in any and all areas. Except to the mentally challenged or seriously deluded. Like you know who.

Ron, speaking of music (as you did on the LAST coffee table) WHO decided KPSA must play that GHASTLY MUSIC they do?? My grandmother might like it. Ye Gods!!

An occassional good song comes across, but most of it is horrid!! 50's through 80's music, but almost NO 40's music is worth listening to. In my opinion, of course, but I cannot imagine I am the only one who hates it!! Most of the time I have to shut it off almost immediately after your show.

Couldn't have been the boss-right? From what I understand, JD has the good taste, at least, to like good old fashioned rock'n'roll, so ought to hear Elvis, Buddy Holly, etc. on KPSA instead of this stuff that's being played. Personally, I don't listen to that station, anymore. I love The FOX-that's 100.5 FM-and the oldies but goodies from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Shattered illusions or not, gotta hear my favorite DJ, too.
:-) (Thought he was live, but it was only Memorex. :-( )

John wants to play that on that station and he pays the bills. Hard work that is sometimes. So I figure do what you want. He basically allows me to make radio otherwise plus I don't have to listen to it! :-)

Diane says she heard a commercial on KPSA about it being the only local station that caters to senior citizens. I probably could listen to it. I like many kinds of music besides rock, except for opera and rap (that's NOT music and the lyrics I've heard are usually totally offensive). I like the old country better (Patsy Cline was awesome), some big band, easy listening, and of course blues and jazz.
At any rate, if JD is going to advertise that he has the only station that caters to seniors (something special) why not advertise the other thing that makes his station unique-the only liberal talk show in E/NM?!!!

Heard that Linda called the show today. Wow! The strangest things seem to happen when there's going to be a full moon, don't they?
(Be forewarned, I'm a Cancer and we tend to be even crazier than usual during the full moon. :-) )
You didn't know your photos were on the radio site, Ron? Guess, the KSFX one must be more recent, as the KMOU one looks a lot more familiar.(Good thing I looked at both, as I probably wouldn't have recognized you anymore-and what!- no pictures of JR, Joe, and Chris?)
Speaking of The Fox, what is this about an affair of the cuticle? Gah! Ron, do you have any romance at all in your soul? I've never heard any of the other DJs say anything like that-not even JR! LOL
Ciao!

Time to honor the Goddess, dc. :)

To Dedanna:
All the time is a good time to honor the Goddess. :-) Seriously, I'm not a Wicca or a Pagan, but after reading "The Da Vinci Code", I decided to embrace the FEMININE side of the Creator, which emphasizes peace, love, beauty, nature, wisdom, etc. and all things that are good. That's in contrast to The Bu$hrat's god of war, destruction, etc. which I guess, is male. However, am reading a book on Celtic Woman's spirituality and they say that women do have to be warriors in a sense, that we need to fight for peace, love, truth, beauty etc. in this unfortunately patriarchal society in love with power and money.
I believe Jesus was created by the power of Goddess, not thru sex, so He could be Her son as easily as a male deity's. I believe in reincarnation and am pretty liberal re: my religious beliefs but am basically still a Christian.

OK. Put the book on women's spirituality aside for a while, tho. Am reading a pretty good fantasy/science fiction series by Garth Nix right now. Books 1-3 are:
"Sabriel", "Lirael", and "Abhorsen". You'd probably like them and RON, it wouldn't hurt you to read them, either. There's more to life than news, news, news. Learn to lighten up.

Probably shouldn't ask you this, Dedanna, but since you've known Ron for so long...why is he so afraid or reluctant to defend or say nice things about his liberal fans and so afraid to diss The Game? I did note that he took Game's disgusting porn off, but the latter should've been scolded for doing it, in my opinion. It often seems that Ron bends over backwards to not look like he favors the liberals over the conservatives.

Nope that's not it at all.

It's something I've raised up at this very blog time and time again, and am sad to see no one sees it still:

Objectivity.

Blogger Dedanna said...

And, I might add, no offense to anyone at all (so please don't take any, ok?), I will defend Ron's objectivity and knowledge any day of the week.

Ron and I were the only ones at that station who stood where we did on the political realm.

We both learned the hard way to give everyone a chance at their opinions, and to listen to them; see the other side as well, and draw our own conclusions from that.

It's also my own personal suspicion (although I don't know Ron this well, and can't say for sure by a long shot) that Ron walks a similar line to my own, which is why even when I was the biggest bitch at the station (and could be at times), we still got along (well, that plus Ron is VERY patient, even to a fault) -- that being that we both are "lone walkers", i.e. we both walk our own walk in life, and are not swayed by other's pulls at us. We stand firm within ourselves -- one of the fundamentals of paganism (believe it or not).

Blogger Dedanna said...

Consider as well, dc, that it doesn't hurt to look (i.e. watch and listen to) at all walks of life.

Helps one to make firmer decisions for their own.

Yes, Ron listens to the Game, but I been there done that a long time ago, and got tired of the games played by Game.

I figure it's Ron's choice, this is his blog if he wants to play.

In every question such as what you posed here, remember to ask yourself what a person would gain by doing what they do.

For Ron, it's to keep objectivity, and to keep freedom of speech going, and who knows, it's my suspicion that he's learning something from the Game as well.

I know I did. I just got through a lot sooner, and have nowhere near the patience Ron does.

10:26 PM, March 25, 2006
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well yeah, I know that Ron tries to be objective and patient, but look at the abuse from Game that he and everyone else has gotten. A line has to be drawn somewhere or people are going to think Ron's either a masochist or afraid to stand up for himself and the bloggers that defend him and each other.
Also, although, I have criticized Ron's curmugeonly ways myself on more than one occasion, I have NEVER criticized his intelligence or his research capabilities which I do admire. It p's me off when Game does this and I don't think Ron should put up with it the way he does. Plus to make a big deal about the spam which was not Ron's fault and then post about it in detail was a slap in Ron's face, don't you think?

4:25 PM, March 27, 2006
Blogger Dedanna said...

I do believe that Ron knows something that I do --

Look how it makes Game look on this blog when he does that. How much of the time is he just talking assinine stuff, and how much of the time is he looking like a stupid-ass here?

Now, who honestly looks better?

Let Game talk. He's only hurting himself. :)

7:34 PM, March 27, 2006
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well, OK. I suppose, you're right. It just pains me to watch Game insult Ron and to see Ron refuse to fight back most of the time. I think that Game probably sees this as a weakness on Ron's part or he wouldn't dare do it so often. It is Ron's blog and he does have the right to demand civility. The thing with the porn was a new low and I still think Game should've been reprimanded for it.

12:39 PM, March 28, 2006
Blogger Dedanna said...

I can't talk on that, dc. Look how many times I myself have been quite uncivil here.

True, I was the way I was to prove a point, but one shouldn't have to reduce themselves to such lows to prove a point.

Another thing that this raises up, is at the end of the day, we're all human, and not perfect. I think Ron sees this too, and yes, even though he has the right to demand civility, I think he also sees this as repression of free speech, which he's mentioned before he doesn't want to do.

We all have a right to our viewpoint. True, there's been some rather uncivil moments on this blog, but it helps to vent, whatever side of the coin you're on.

Maybe to Ron, it's worth it to put up with it, to maintain that freedom of speech, who knows.

Maybe there's something that Ron is learning personally from all of this from Game.

Maybe he's just allowing Game to hang himself here.

Does it matter what it is? I don't know myself in all actuality, but I do respect that this is Ron's blog to do as he pleases for whatever reason.

At the end of the day, it's Ron's choice, not ours, to do what he wants for this blog. It's his blog, not ours. We are only guests. We can ask for what we want here, but if we ask for something to happen here in order to raise the standards, then that means we have to keep ourselves in check so we don't look like the hypocrits that Game is; which may not be as easy as it seems to do.

Would you agree?

Let's just enjoy the fact that we have an open blog, where we can say openly what we think. One that we can vent, scream, criticize, whatever at.

Thank the gods that be that Ron is the way he is, ok? Not criticize him for it. He, I'm sure, knows what he's doing, and why. He's a grown man, a human in his own right. :)

Well, yeah, but I would rather that Game wasn't allowed to come here and get away with whatever nasty thing he wants to say. I haven't been to his blog and don't want to, but for all we know, he is posting about what losers we all are on his blog and yukking it up about how Ron is too afraid to stand up and tell him off. Ron has told his listeners that he had to put up with a lot of verbal abuse from his peers as a kid. People like Game are just like school yard bullies and they see a refusal to fight back as a weakness. Ron's not a kid anymore and Game is not his boss, so I think there is a point where Ron must draw the line and stand up for himself and the bloggers who are so willing to stand up for him.

Well, I just care too much what other people think, in general, and always have-one of my major faults, I guess. Besides, Game's nastiness is so much easier to counter than the braindead Bushies I see out on the street, much less the anal cyst guy and that Coulter twit.
I may not always act like it, but I do genuinely like Ron and admire him and wish he wouldn't let himself be used and abused by people like the Game. It's bad enough that Ron's willing to work for a conservative Republican ignoramus too dense to recognize his talent and intelligence and to capitalize on it, instead of just making a token effort to show how magnanimous he is by letting a Liberal have a little talk show on a 1000 watt station without even an 800 number. Ron deserves better. (Also, see Fresh Coffee)

All this doesn't mean that I think I can really change Ron's attitude. I'm just venting a little frustration. If he wants to let himself be manipulated by people like Game, we're, all of us, you included, powerless to stop it. Just hate to see it happen, and I wouldn't say it if I didn't care about him, y'know.
Peace!

OK. It's just that Ron is a good person and he tends to give people like Game the benefit of the doubt. It's bad enough that he has to spend so much time around people like JD who will go so far as to insult him on-air.
I can see that Game will suck up to Ron as long as he agrees with him, but will attack him the minute he disagrees with his views. I think that Game mainly wants to fight with Liberals on both blogs. Yeah, Ron is smart, way smarter than Game, but way nicer, too. Just hate to think that The Game is playing Ron instead of the other way around.
Anyway, no point in going over this again and again. Ron will do what he's going to do, regardless of warnings from me. Will just keep him in my prayers. :-)

Well, having met Ron, I can see where he probably needs someone to bring him some food and fatten him up. But, no, I kinda figure that meeting me once was enough for Ron, so I make sure to keep my distance. Hopefully, one of these days he'll make the big time and we'll start a fan club, so lots of women can show up with their autograph books and cameras when he's out on live broadcasts. Maybe they'll even bring him some food. :-) Also, maybe Ron should get himself a bumper sticker that says "Will brake for hugs." LOL

Gee, Dedanna, are you hinting that the way to Ron's heart is thru his stomach? LOL I figure that's a lost cause at least for me even if he wasn't busy doing his
Greta Garbo imitation ("I vant to be alone!") He invited me to meet him last year after I did the petition to get the show back on the air and I brought along my pretty blonde friend. He looked at her and his face glowed and he looked at me and his face fell-very very bad for my ego. :-(
Best I could hope for is to be friends, but Ron doesn't want any close friends, either-he wants to be alone. (sigh)
Anyway, if I did bring him food, I'm sure I could do a lot better than macaroni and cheese and hot dogs. I'm not Julia Child, but I've been told that I'm a pretty good cook. He says he likes pot roast but makes his in a crock pot. I marinate mine overnight in wine, vinegar, and spices, rub garlic, salt, pepper, and onion powder into it, and braise it in a broth with more wine, vinegar, onions, and spices (inc. bay leaf), adding carrots and potatoes
after about an hour. You should turn the roast periodically-takes about 2 1/2-3 hr. to cook. I use the broth w/more wine, vinegar, bay, and ginger to make the gravy, then add sour cream to the gravy and usually serve the roast, vegetables, and gravy with gingered pears and spiced apple rings. It is to die for! :-)
(Gee, maybe Ron should have a section for our favorite recipes-d'ya think?)
Ciao!

Just read another science fiction book you'd probably like. It's called "Siberia". Can't remember the author's name-Ann something, I think, but I know she's English. Anyway, the book is really good and there are ecological themes, as well as the political oppression.
