Seems lately that everyone is angry with me for some reason or the other. I'm sorry to disappoint you all. I am not a robotron. I am an individual. I have my own ideals and my own way of doing things. If my ideals die in this arena or the radio I will find a new way to promote what I believe in. I can't please everyone all the time and don't even try. It's a lesson in futility. I learned that long ago. God bless you all and I hope for civility and peace and love for one another. Tolerance is the key word.

Well, there's one person here who's in your corner, and a friend always.

Hope you know that.

Seems that a lot can't be objective, and realize that not everyone can adhere completely and totally 100% to only one set of ideals.

It's called closed-mindedness, whichever side of the coin you're on, and it's a sad thing. We get in a certain mindset, and stick with that, ra-ra, no matter what. :(

Someday, this too, shall pass... I hope.

Take care, Ron.

It's the damned truth, for chrissake. I remember the days. "So and so personality" makes one "the" one to "do it all"...

Sent an email on this to Ron, already.
I think Ron should be our "alpha", so to speak because he's:
#1 the host of the show/creator of the blog that allows Liberals to actually have a voice in an ultra-conservative community that has squashed any Democrats and Liberals who dared to speak up for so long, that most of them live in fear.
#2 twice as smart and knowledgable as "The Limbaugher Cheesehead" and others like him (alphas should be smart)
#3 sort of the sun we all revolve around
Yes, we can defend ourselves, and we will defend each other. I don't mind most of the conservatives IF they want to engage in a real debate. The L/Cheesehead only wants to post neo-con talking points and name call people like The Donkey who must have more actual FACTS about the state of the world in his pinky finger than The L/C has in his whole body. If we wanted to be insulted we could go to The Game's blog.
Also, Ron does such a great Howard Dean imitation, too. (smile)
Liberal means generous, broadminded, in favor of progress, reforms, and the protection of civil liberties. This describes you, Ron, so be PROUD of being a Liberal. Liberals stand up for the little guy so a Populist is a Liberal. Liberals don't believe in the government regulating EVERY aspect of our lives. There's way too much bureaucracy as it is. You could call yourself a Liberal Libertarian Populist, but that's awfully long. That's the problem with labels. As Dedanna says, we all have views that are considered Liberal or Conservative. We are what we are. I just hope Ron will remember that the so called Liberals not the Conservatives are his fan base and THEY saved the show with their letters, petitions, emails, and phone calls. Please stand up for them against The Games of the world, Ron just as we will stand up for YOU.
Peace!

“I'm sorry to disappoint you all”.

This statement is a hasty generalization. You have commited a logical fallacy of reaching an inductive generalization based on too little evidence. The Donkey is disappointed that Ron did not use inductive logic and reason which of the premises of an argument support the conclusion, When the Donkey ascribes properties or relations to types based on limited observations of particular tokens,or to formulates laws based on limited observations of recurring phenomenal patterns, the donkey is careful to avoid fallacies. The Donkey wants to attempt to demonstrate the truth of an assertion called a conclusion, based on the truth of a set of assertions.

Having a few drinks in me myself, I am thinking that the translation is as follows:

1) Ron, you assume that you have disappointed everyone.

2) You also assume that you have disappointed everyone not based on fact.

3) You have not disappointed the Donkey.

4) You have not disappointed Dedanna.

5) Therefore, the logical conclusion is that you have not disappointed everyone.

Democat. I thank you for your good words and your confidence in me. It is greatly appreciated. As Dedanna noted at one point the blog is here to share ideas. I took the initative to organize it but I would like to use it as a learning experience..for all of us. While I consider myself a confident person I am also by nature rather humble. I really am not looking for followers or fans. My ego tells me I should keep my confidence to myself and let people find the way themselves. If what I do or say makes sense to you combine it with the other things in your life and make it your own. If it doesn't make sense to you, well your stupid. :-) No, it means if we can have a civil conversation we might learn something from each other. I'm a teamwork kind of guy. I'll contribute what I can and I want to learn from you too. Somebody once told me that's how you get smart.
I'm happy to claim any label you think fits me. Shithead is fine as far as I'm concerned. I call myself a populist mainly to ephmasise that my concern above all is the power of the people over their government as a basic premise. Sadly we got a loooooong way to go to get there. I truly appreciate your support. I hope you will join in this blog and the radio show as an equal.

Thanks.

P.S.: I have never known Ron to be an "ego" persay. I have worked with Ron in the past, and he is anything but.

It's name-calling again, and we all as libs need to quit that.

Humility never hurt anyone. As a matter of fact, it does nothing but help. Wish GWB could be half the humble person that Ron is, and I wish I had half of his humility.

It's this kind of arrogance that has our country in the shape it's in. And, it's this kind of division within the Democratic and other parties (other than the Repugs) that has our country in the shape it's in too.

Let's all try to get along. United we stand, divided we fall.

There's a calm surrender to the rush of day
When the heat of the rolling world can be turned away
An enchanted moment, and it sees me through
It's enough for this restless warrior just to be with you

And can you feel the love tonight
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we got this far
And can you feel the love tonight
How it's laid to rest
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best

Well, OK, I have told Ron we should call this soap opera "All My Fans (and The Game, too). Wow!
I make one little comment half tongue in cheek and all He** breaks loose. I guess, if anyone's gonna play the blame game, I'm gonna have to play it with myself because I fell for The Game's bait and started all the ruckus.
#1-I do think The Donkey is a lot smarter and more knowledgable than The Game, and he is humble too.
#2-Thank you for your thank you and comments, Ron. I do see that you are TRYING to have a format where we can exchange ideas and debate the issues. I see your problem with the show and have said that before and that it is not YOUR fault that the Bushies don't call in. Neither is it The Maniac's, for the most part. They can't defend their guy anymore. For the record, I don't think you are a Republican, although I wish you'd show a little more solidarity with your own Party. We already have Limbaugh, etc. to beat us up. I, also, think you are a pretty good DJ and know you put in a lot of time researching and know your stuff. (You're gonna have fans whether you want 'em or not!)
That does not mean that I wanna step on the toes of Maniac and Linda who are pretty terrific people. Both are smart and spiritual people with a lot to offer both the blog and the show. They are angry as many of us are and "Maniac" vents the anger many fearful people in the area can only enjoy vicariously. Personally, I think there are many fans (not Bushies) who enjoy this aspect of the show. They could care less about politics, but they love a good fight. Also, "Maniac" is a character and "Bewitching Wizard" is mostly pretty mellow. (Keep in mind, Ron, that Joe Artesia kind of started this by giving "Wizard" the name "Maniac" and now the latter is expected to live up to the nickname) I think it must be exhausting to have to be "Maniac" all the time. I think he'll forgive and forget, eventually, as will Linda. They just need a time out for a while as they're sort of burned out from it all.
Dedanna, I understand why you are upset. You were just defending your friend, Ron, as I have done, also. You don't know them, tho, so can't really judge them too much. Anyway, we are on the same side. You know that The Game is now sucking up to Ron. He said that the only one on the blog who isn't insane besides himself is Ron. That means he's saying YOU are crazy, too. I still say that the only reason he comes on this blog is to #1 take up blog space with rightwing propaganda no one wants to read and #2 sow seeds of discontent. He must be laughing up his sleeve, as he's succeeded in doing it. But, hey, we're all onto him-right? You say "Know thine enemy." Well, don't forget thine enemy is The Game!

Y'know what? I haven't said one single word to put down Linda/Maniac, or anyone but the game and avg. joe, and mark.

Whatever I did to incur such arrogant wrath from Linda, well, I guess I have to blow it off, and hope that she can truly see the light someday on how things honestly are, and aren't.

I've said nothing (or so I thought) to offend her; neither have I tried to anyone else, other than those who truly deserved it at the time, that I mentioned above.

Linda, I'm not going to ask for forgiveness for what I don't do. I just won't. You are being mean, hateful, and arrogant to the ones who are and have been on your side. Maybe it's just that we're not on "your side" in the way you'd like us to be. For that, I'm sorry, but it's your problem, not anyone else's.

Other than that, take care.

Has anyone here, ever stopped to think just once, that looking from the outside in, maybe I can see where Ron's coming from, and this is why I have said what I did (not intending to insult anyone)?

Maybe because I've actually lived it myself?

I'm sorry if you don't like that, but it's FACT. It has nothing to do with brown-nosing, or any other insulting comment that's come my way.

It has to do with objectivity.

Don't like it? Oh well.

How to honestly research.

I don't think it likely myself that it will happen.

Besides, that wasn't my point here. My point was about what was coming from the Maniac(s?) and others who seem to harbor undeserved resentment, anger, and extreme insulting whre it wasn't deserved.

Well, no one should be sucking up to anyone here.

This is a blog for chrissake, for people to input their own thoughts, what-have-you. If we are, or are taken by others to, "sucking up", then why the hell are any of us here? It's such a low level game to play. It's the typical Roswellian/Clovis/New Mexico game. Suck up to who you think will suit your agenda the most.

Sorry. Sorry, sorry, sorry! If that's what's going on here, then I want no part of it.

I stuck up for someone that I could see where they were coming from.

For that, I get accused of brown-nosing, of everything else in the book????????

If no one else can see it, then they need to get a reality check on what it's like to be people like Ron, people like me, and a whole host of other human beings that I can think of.

Come out of your cocoons people and start seeing things from someone else's shoes! Quit this small-minded bullshit!

If "the one and only agenda" is the sole reason we're here, and we'll do anything we can to get it, then I will do everything I can to change that. We need to get it through much better means. Grow up for chrissake.

My computer has been down, so I had missed out on all of this. It would not have broken my heart if I had missed out on it forever.

However, since I haven't, a few observations...

I think the Donkey is probably the smartest and most informed (about political history) person on this blog. He amazes me!! Dedanna is no slouch, either, AND she puts up numerous interesting and helpful links if anyone checks them out (I check out many of them which is why I make that statement.)

Larry is knowledgeable in areas that most of the rest of us aren't. I always learn something from him.

And Democat is a lot smarter than she makes herself out to be. She puts stuff on this blog and brings up issues on the show I did not know about, and I think I am pretty well informed about most things that have happened in the past few years because I spend my life reading. BUT, my knowledge about political events that happened before that would not compare to the Donkey's.

As for Ron, well, he has a great voice on the radio, and goes to a LOT of work to keep himself informed to bring out facts and information to anyone who listens to his show or reads this blog. Does anyone think Rush does that kind of work?? His workers give him "talking points," which are based on PART of a story. He, like Bush, tells half truths. His intent is to make his followers despise and hate anyone who thinks differently than he thinks. And his followers eat it up, which is why they are called "dittoheads." Ron has a plethora of common sense about most things. Common sense is in woefully short supply.

I understand conservatives. In my reading over the past few years, Ike has become one of my heroes. Sometimes I get so fed up with the government, I wonder if I am not a Libertarian. BUT,if you think about it, government is supposed to help those who cannot help themselves. The powerless and not very bright among us. The rich can help themselves.

SO to give those who need it the little bit of help we do, we have to put up with the inefficiency of government. But yes, I think people should "help themselves" as well. But, many can't. After the horrors of the Depression, the government put some safeguards in place so that kind of poverty would not happen again in this rich country. WHY does this current government want to make so many people desperately poor again?? Real income has gone down and poverty has gone up every year since Bush was in office. And programs that would help them are what he wants to cut!! His supposed hero, Teddy Roosevelt said the rich should pay more taxes because they got more benefits from government. Under Ike the richest among us paid 90% in taxes and corporations paid 52%, and there were not, then, the loopholes there are now, so that Halliburton, for instance, pays very little in taxes and does not have to account for the money it gets.

We have to go back to focusing on our country. We need to get the mentally ill out of the streets. We need to help drug-abusers get out of that trap when they are ready to. We need to help the physically disabled, but THOSE sorts of programs are exactly what this bunch in power now wants to cut. We need to remember that "there but for the grace of God..." Why do we expect so much of the poor and those with low I.Q.s when we expect NOTHING of the rich?? Why is it wrong to help them but okay to help those who need no help??

Those in power now are using government, not to help the powerless, but as an agency to enrich themselves and their friends. The government COULD be well-run, but the agenda of those in power now seems to be to destroy anything that is meant to benefit the common people, and to help those who need no help at all. To make the already too rich and the environment destroying corporations ever more rapacious. Their greed is astounding, and certainly unchristian.

They put incompetent people in positions that matter, because, in most cases, their intent is to undermine or even destroy those agencies. That is why polluters or lawyers for polluters head the EPA, for instance.

The Game gets his info from right wing sites, which have taken over the media as well. It is pretty interesting that 90% of the talk shows are right wing and extreme right wing, but because they tell him we have a "liberal" media, he buys that, just as he obviously buys most of the other stuff they say against ALL the evidence to the contrary. Karl Rove's plan was to attack people on their strengths. Amazingly, because of people like Rush, it has worked so far. Ideas and issues are not talked about. The PERSON is attacked.

For instance, a 100,000 to 300,000 person demonstration gets about the same coverage as a 200 person demonstration, and infinitely less coverage than the right-wing dozen demonstrators about Teri Schaivo. Also, no news outlet mentioned the 1000 veterans who signed a letter to Bush before the war, and there was virtually NO anti-war media coverage before the war. Neither are the military leaders who think we should pull out now, covered by the media.

Janis Karpinsky should be a REALLY BIG story, but her story is not mentioned at all in the "liberal press." The Game should watch "Orwell Rolls in His Grave." But, of course he wouldn't because Rush would have disparaged it.

I wish we would get TWO sides of any idea on any outlet, but we do not. The right has their media, and the left has theirs, now, with Air America. The right has many more outlets, of course. There is no longer an exchange of ideas, it is just people calling other people names because they do not agree with their thinking.

Honestly, the ONLY show I see that tries to have people on from both sides at the same time is Democracy Now. People like Chris Matthews just interrupt people and don't let them talk, so you really learn nothing from his show.

And, Dedanna, why is The Game sucking up to Ron? Maybe because he knows that SOME of the Liberals resent the things he says on this blog and want him to go back to his own blog which is supposedly a semi-finalist for some kind of award. Maybe The Game is afraid Ron will ban him from posting on this blog anymore, just like the rightwing hosts screen calls and won't let Liberals have their say, too.

RON: FREE SPEECH ZONE???

Well here I am and do not hang up on me again!!!WOW...

As I mentioned during my 2ND call into KPSA this week Al Sharpton was dissed over and over by the white community and the black community as well, then it happend, the democrats realized they needed someone to speak loud and clear for their ideals, and Al Sharpton made it to the presidential nominations of election 2004!!! More than we can say for any one of us...and he knows for reals the meaning of true humility, yet he pushes forward...he speaks out where most run and hide...he is truly courageous and has brought to the political table much credibility to outstanding and controverial issues of the day, he does not run from adversity, and RON---neither does the MANIAC...he too brings to the table much information, along with a resolute heart to fix the damn disgusting problems this administration has beset upon the USA...he brings the "US" back into USA...this is what the right wing wants to happen in this town, let the conservatives have another forum, like they don't already have enough, well it's all crashing in on them now??? And it will continue so, for we are all fed up and &0% of USA are feeling the same way, including Angelina Jolie!!!She interview with Wolf on CNN today and has done a 100% turnabout re her loyalty to "bush"...

Well I feel that advertising 1230 AM as a free speech zone is false advertising and should be ceased immediately...when one can speak freely, then it negates the concept of fre speech...free speech regulated by JD??? There are other avenues which will be opening up that will truly be free speech zones, hope JD can stand some competition...who knows what the future holds??? Sorry you see things the way you do, you are completely off key re the Maniacs and you have been attacking them for several months now, is that fair??? And remember the definition of "populist"---are you really a populist, or are you just using the term to hide your true identity, many of your views allude me to make this deduction especially when you can not take it and have hang up---well I for one will never give you that opportunity again...writer/liberal and very proud to be so...
And Dedanna---keep up the brown nosing, don't know you and don't care to---just from the tidbits of crap you write, you swing to all sides, you are like luke warm water, just what the BIBLE tells us not to be like...keep kissing buttttttt...and you know whos'---writer...

Dear Lonna,
The sweetest of all sounds is praise.

Thank you. You are kind to post about the Donkey. The Donkey expressess appreciation at being recognized and credits others who have made contributions.

"We are like dwarfs standing [or sitting] upon the shoulders of giants, and so able to see more and see farther than the ancients."
- Bernard of Chartres, circa 1130

The Donkey owes much to the knowledge that earlier sages have discovered. One of the donkey's leaders has said;

Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.

Lonna, Most excellent post. You portraied my idea of teamwork better than I did. I must say I also credit you with lots of good information. When I'm looking for the facts I know who has them. Everybody has something good to offer and as a whole we are far better than one.

After seeing this comment line, The Donkey is reminded of this song.

SR-71 LYRICS

"Let It Whip"

Love to see you whip it
Sure can treat you right
Give me just a minute
of your time tonight
We both are here to have some fun
Let it whip

Some drink deeply at the fountain of knowledge...others just gargle.

Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes never meant for The Donkey to post this:

Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world, few hearts survive
All I know, is the way I feel
When it’s real, I keep my pray alive

The road is long
There are mountains in our way
But we climb steps every day

Some people see the glass as half empty, others see the glass as half full. The Donkey just wonders who the hell is drinking the Donkey's beer!

Writer, You seem to have caught that victim disease. Sorry to hear that. I just wish you had any idea what you are talking about.
The radio station is NOT a public utility. It IS however obliged to serve the public interest. To allow as many people as possible in the community to use the utility would be seen as in the public interest. To have someone subject to demeaning, debasing, being called a liar, for their view on something or other? Not in the PUBLIC interest.
By the way. Noting the station is for ALL the community, please realize that many people are listening and they are not listening to hear your personal petty little soap opera of whos dis'ed you and who's not. That is why I hung up on you the first time. It did not seem to me to be of general interest. If I had a screener you would have never gotten that far.
If someone has information or an interesting, non threating perspective that violates no FCC sanctions, you are in the free speech zone. If that is too limiting for you I guess it's not. If Rush Limbaugh can be "Americas Anchorman" I can surely be the FREE SPEECH ZONE!

It doesn't struggle to be different than a sheep.
It doesn't have to.
It is different.

Ron, if you had a screener you'd be off the show according to your boss JD!!! The show has taken a boring twist-good luck to you---and speaking of being victimized, your the one with that problem, so don't project it onto others...you are not running a free speech zone and no one has broken any FCC rules...including the Maniac...you are also not a populist...look up the definition this time yourself...ps will not be returning to this blog either so no need for your nasty response to reality and I do not need your approval re the subj matter I speak of...hmmm you haven't had a problem with any of it till now??? again---good luck, and while you're at it look up the definitions of uniter and divider, then think on it...which are you???good-bye.ps- how is it you continue to back a lame game over the Maniac or myself, who have true liberal opinions---populist-huh-I don't think sooooo. Stay in Roswell, you won't make it anywhere else.

This listener west of Roswell has heard Ron have temper tamtrums on the air before which clearly were in violation of FCC and hang up on people
who just didn't discuss a topic the way Ron wanted it discussed. And KPSA has said "radio is not about free speech it is about entertainment"
o.k. We will listen to KCRX 1430. Roswell should do the same.

Oh, wow! Don't want to get in the middle here, as Diane is my best friend, and I understand why she is angry. Dissent is being squashed all over the country, and it seems especially bad here. I guess, we like the idea of having a LIBERAL show and a LIBERAL blog, because the conservative powers that be have tried so hard to keep us down, and they have their own shows/blogs. It's like the deal with the big Kerry sign that was torn down at the post office, and Dedanna, would you believe that right after the election our headquarters was bulldozed? It almost makes me weep, I get so upset. Reminds me of the Bible story about the rich man who had so many flocks and the poor man who had one little lamb. The rich man took the poor man's lamb to slaughter for a feast for a guest.
I understand Ron's viewpoint, too, and there are rules. Much as I love Maniac and Linda, they did push the limits at times. I think the show can go on without them, even though I think they'll be back eventually. It's up to the fans/listeners to make sure of that because it's our voice.
Keep up the good work, Ron! Also, don't want to fight with Dedanna who is obviously very smart/knowledgable and has contributed so much to this blog.
Peace to you all!

Democat. I think we can do what we want within parameters and it will work. I want conservatives on the show and on the blog. I am so happy to be on the side I'm on I will be glad to talk about it. I guess I don't see an enemy. I see the loyal opposition. I think the more we can reach out to people, even if we disagree on many things, we can be as one country instead of two. I am seriously troubled by the bitter division between Americans. I have the same horror and disgust and , frankly, shock that anybody was left that hadn't at least sort of figured out the whole deal by now.
One of the other things that seriously troubles me is the hate and revulsion that we seem to feel toward the other side..from both sides. It's visceral.
Somehow I don't think we are going to move America forward if we continue on that path. We need to understand again that we are America and we're in it together. The good and the bad. Family bickering is one thing but visceral hate is another element altogether. If there is unity in 48% of us there is still only unity in 48% of us. Unity means to include everyone to me. The problem with Populism is I would only consider it true populism if that 90% was controlling the 10% and sadly right now it's precisely opposite. Can we make true change on the landscape of America or are we going to continue down a path that certainly is not working? It's time for a new paradigm.

Ok, Ron, I'll do my best to get along with those Bushwhacked s.o.b.s who want to take over the world, ruin it, get us into wars that we shouldn't be in, take away the social security that I've worked so hard for all my life, let 'em do what they want, eh?

Yeah, even I can say that it would be okay to have conservatives on a show to debate, and to let their viewpoints be known (yes, they have that freedom too), BUT,,,

Do not expect me to like them.

Murders, control freaks, agenda seekers, people-destroyers in general make me sick. Every time my mother or I see GWB (or any other Bushwhacked in gov't) on t.v. or in picture or anywhere, we get literally physically ill...

Please keep things balanced between the two if you do this, and be careful.

Dedanna, I hear what you are saying. The thing is ,the one thing that really made America great to me is that all had a chance to live the life they choose. We are all Americans trying to make the great experiment work. I've noticed its not going so well lately. Maybe we need to re examine this whole deal. Maybe if we saw it as our goal to get along instead of our current nearly civil war mentality, maybe things could at least move forward somehow.
I don't expect you to like them or necessary get along with them. I am so confident of our general positions that I welcome the challenge of a real discussion of the issues. I think if we could do that we would find, and they would find that we really all want that America I noted at the begining. We HAVE to bring them in. They will only come when they truly see.
There's got to be a way to refire Real America but if it happens its going to be because of the people and not the politicians.

Yes, I would love to see a TEAM of debators. I think Dedanna, Dena, Larry, Ron, the Donkey and I and several other smart Democrats I know could outdebate just about all comers on the Bush administration. Because we make it our business to stay informed. John Ford was itching for a counter-demonstration last Saturday so the Bush supporters cold display their ignorance. He is a Korean War veteran and very sharp.

Unfortunately, there are not civil debates any more. It all seems to spiral down into "so's your mother!" and name calling.

No one ever disputes me on my "Words of War Heroes versus the Words of Bush/co" because they can't.
