Al An American Agent
As you know I am slow to jump on conspiracy theories. This one comes from Egypt.
In a June 15, 2005 editorial titled "All the Evidence Proves that Al-Zarqawi is an American Agent," a leading Egyptain government daily Al-Akhbar states that Al-Zarqawi is working for the U.S. and is massacring Iraqis in an effort to extend the occupation in Iraq.......Abu Mus'ab Al-Zarqawi's official title is 'leader of Al-Qa'ida's faction in Iraq.' Osama bin Laden is the commander of the Al-Qa'ida organization, and this proves that [Al-Zarqawi's commander,] bin Laden, has [also] been an American agent ever since he operated against the USSR forces in Afghanistan in favor of the Americans!
Without knowing more I could debate this in both directions. I'd hate to think my country is doing something like this but unfortunately I wouldn't put it past the single minded PNAC boys. At this point this just looks like someones speculation. What do you think?

Ok, Ron, I will bite. When I read the whole article, I was amazed at the leaps of logic the writer used to try and show that Zarqawi and bin Laden were US agents. Aside from the obivious intent to show that the US is being evil and trying to extend its occupation of Iraq, there may be another angle to the story.
I like using the story of a Civil War Union general who looked at a map during the battle of the Wilderness, and saw that he had a Confederate division on either side of him, none in front or back. Thinking he was to be surrounded, he panicked and withdrew. If he had turn his map around, he would have seen that he was in between the two elements, and could have defeated them one by one.
So let's turn the map around on this story. The Eqyptian editor writes a story which seemingly slams the US for wanting to keep occupying Iraq. However, at the same time, he slams Zarqawi and bin Laden, labeling them American agents. What worse label could a terrorist have? What better way to lessen the appeal of al-Qa'ida to the masses? Imagine the mind set of a suicide bomber who reads the article, and thinks, "hmm, I was going to blow myself up for Islam, and now, they say I am just a tool for the Americans".
Given that the aricle appeared in a leading Egyptian Government newspaper, I think the more plausible conspiracy may be that the 'single minded PNAC boys', if they are involved, are trying to discredit al-Qa'ida with help from the Eqyptian government. Most likely, the Eqyptian government, with help from some clever CIA types, came up with this. Remember, the Eqyptian gov has its own real problems with the fundamentalists. In Monty Python terms, this must have come from their "Ministry of How to Slam the Americans and Discredit the Fundamentalists at the Same Time".
Things like this used to seem so far-fetched that they were laughable. Now we see that with this bunch, almost nothing is out of the question. The last 4+ years show that if you're going to tell a lie, tell it big and tell it often. Who knows what's true?
Bob, I'm kind of like Jim. Mostly I'd look at this and laugh or speculate as you did that it could just as easily be a CIA plot to discredit al-queda. I admit that it is sadly unfortunate but this bunch has me not real sure what lengths they would go to. They seem so single minded to me...you know, the ends justify the means, whatever they may be. I'm sorry but honest when I say that.
I pray I'm wrong and it hasn't gotten that far. I just don't know when all things are considered.

Ok So The maniac was a little late in saying this about one week but yes of course Asama Bin is working for the USA , and yes the Whole 9/11 thing was planned by our govt , dont think they would kill innocent Americans??? Whats this in Afganistan and Iraq a video were watching??? And whos planes were the ones who crashed into the towers with bombs attached to them , Not American Airlines but govt planes , where are the real planes you ask ??? well the govt has said many times we are all expendable, you think those couldnt have been diverted elsewhere and the people killed .I put nothing past these PINAC guys because they are all greedy and what is the WaR about ?? Just a note to bring things further into prospective. In the first place Bob can be totally discredited he lies. He proved this on the show and still isn't man enough to admit his mistruths and maybe he'd like to listen to one of the tapes that a listener did before he like to continue lying. He did say there was an airplane flying into the pentagon and he did say there was a picture then he even gave phony directions to see it, then admits he never said it - well Bob Buddy many heard you and someone even taped you, so you just keep acting like the lily livered republicans do in the White House and lie to us all, you think we believe you any more. Liars are not part of the American Way so lets turn your General around (if he was really that stupid-of course he didn't have to contend with Liars too much). Lets not turn the map around story the Egyptian editor at least to this point has not been proven a liar like you have Bob - Besides what else have the republicans given us to like, while you think of a way out of this Lie Bob - tell us "What has Groge Bush done for the average american in 5 years?" Let me answer for you he made the rich richer, I don't know how you think he is an law an order president when the only man he ever pardoned from death row was a convicted serial killer, so if your such a true cop Bod you'd better stop lying and look at the truth instead of your false loyalties to the jokes in the white house, they're going down, even if you ever become a good american or not.
