The Leg Bone Connects To The Thigh Bone

Health care providers can charge the government for emergency care provided to illegal aliens beginning Tuesday. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services issued final guidance Monday that sets up a system for reimbursement. Lawmakers set aside $1 billion over four years for the program, created by Medicare legislation passed in 2003.
For hospitals in border states, the additional money can mean the difference between running a profitable business or an unprofitable one, said Don May, vice president of policy for the American Hospital Association. ...Here

So I guess this means we do pay for illegals health care. Shouldn't citizens be in line for that first? I know hey what are they going to do, turn them away? We need a complete rethink of our health care system, immigration policy/security and relations with Mexico. First factor, we have the most expensive health care system in the world.......You take it from there.

At the risk of sounding prejudiced (which I'm not; I'm just logical and sensible), NAFTA=BAD. It's the reason our country is selling out to the illegals, and welfare is only the start. It needs to go away. Fastly.

NAFTA=why illegals get education, why illegals get food, why illegals get cars, why illegals get medicine, why illegals get everything handed to them on a silver platter, while we who are citizens have to work our sorry arses off to wonder if we'll ever eat again.

Other than that, should anyone be surprised? Our gov't is selling the U.S. out by the hundredfold to other countries anyway, so who cares, while honest to god Americans have to wonder if we'll be alive when we wake up in the morning.

Thank you, neocons and liberals both. NOT.

Oh, and btw, these $82 bils, what we call "pocket change", that we're giving to the Iraqi war, would go a VERY long way towards medical care and education in the U.S. for its citizens, would it not?

Great blog I hope we can work to build a better health care system as we are in a major crisis and health insurance is a major aspect to many.
