Hippies Destroying America

Those damn dirty fu*kn hippies spit at the troops. Digby has something worth reading.

He has become such a famous victim that he and his parents even went to the State of the Union address at the invitation of Dennis Hastert. Some might find it odd that such terrible treatment would befall the same man --- first he gets a terrible Christmas card (Christmas!) that tells him to "go die." Then, he was spat upon by protestors --- a myth of the 1960's come to life right before our very eyes. What are the odds?

Welcome to the Joseph Goebbels school of media and information. I would still find a number of problems with this even if it wasn't propaganda.
First, the impression they are trying to create is that those that oppose their policy on the war hate the troops. If that be the case how do you account for the fact that many parents of troops were among the marchers. Further, how do you account for the fact that many that served, including this very war were among the marchers. Secondly the agrieved Mr. Sparling is quoted in the story as saying(not suprisingly I might add) “These are not Americans as far as I’m concerned” .... Let me tell you if he was screaming what a friend of the enemy and how unamerican I was I'd spit on the ground in front of him to, vet or not. How dare they even postulate such blubbery. That is about as disgusting as anything I can think of. How many people are even buying that "hate America" "want us to loose" crap anyway. These are the kind of nonstories those on the radical right will spew and push over and over and over again. That is how propaganda works.

Ron,

Just wanted to tell you right quick that I'm sorry for the lack of posting lately. I've been busy with trying to get on schedule with the new job, health issues, trying to get caught up on bills from when I was out of work, etc. -- haven't had time to paruse what's on the i-net politically, and, am becoming surprisingly immune to what's going on in that area. I've been able to catch up with news on the boob toob, and find that it's all too overwhelming to phathom right now.

Once things get straightened out, however, I'm sure I'll get back at it again. For now, I'm standing back and down on political issues. I may not even vote in 2008 -- am too disappointed with both parties, and am highly disappointed that there is no strong independent candidate (again).

Take care.

If you haven't already, watch this video.

Must be alzheimer's or something since. Oh wait, let's not confuse alzheimer's with greed. That's right.

Read This. Of course the radical Islamists could be willing participants to bring about such a confligration to heighten their control there and deplete even more U.S. resources in the quagmire. If this all goes wrong would Bush be impeached and a "reform" Republican be appointed VP? All the better to become Pres and/or Pres Elect in '08 to insure continued Domestic financial and social agendas?

The Republican Smoking Gun (Letter) on Iraq Here.

And why doesn't the Bush/Cheney Administration make sure that concern trumps whatever commercial interests may be preventing governments from acting when it comes to Exxon, Haliburton, Carlise et al and the Middle East, and domestically for that matter?
