Time Line
This is from a Republican and former CIA officer: Here
Apart from the cowardly and tawdry effort of the Bush Administration to smear Ambassador Wilson for the simple fact of telling them they had their facts wrong, the outing of Valerie Plame marks the first time in the post-World War Two era that government officials with security clearances participated in the deliberate outing of a CIA officer. It does not matter whether she was under official or non-official cover. It does not matter whether she was sitting at a desk or working overseas. What does matter is that elected officials entrusted with the responsibility to protect national security secrets chose to break this trust for petty political reasons.
I don't know if Karl Rove or Lewis Libby or others will be indicted. But this much is certain: What was done to Valerie Plame was an outrageous betrayal. If the President cannot recognize or acknowledge that simple fact, he does not deserve to be the Commander in Chief of the United States. It does not have to be illegal to be wrong. Mr. President, people under your command have done wrong and you sit idly by doing nothing to hold them accountable. Sadly, this is the common theme of your Administration.

A very good timeline of the betrayal
Man...I got up to the part where the Novack article was published and my ADD kicked in big time...
Where does it show Rove told anyone anything? It looks like SOMEONE did, but Novack knew about it before he talked to Rove, so this source says.
I would love to comment about how Wilsons report turned out to be a bunch of lying crap, but I know that is not the point of this post.
I beleive you are mistaken that Wilson's report turned out to be a bunch of lying crap. This is what the Republics claim, but they refuse to recognize the facts. They merely recite the administration's talking points.
The documents upon which the yellow cake claim were based were found to be amatuerish forgeries. The crap lies in how the administration attempts to restate what Wilson said and then call that a lie.
For example, Wilson said that the vice-president asked the CIA to look into the yellow cake claim. The CIA asked Wilson, a former ambassador to a number of countries in the region, knowledgeable about the uranium industry, and the last US diplomat in Iraq before the war, to go to Niger and investigate. The White House turned that into "Wilson claimed that the vice-president sent him to Niger, and that's a lie." Wilson did not claim that, so he didn't lie.
The White House also claims that Wilson's wife had the CIA send Wilson to Niger. This is false. Plame made the CIA aware of Wilson's experience and expertise in the region and the industry. The CIA took it from there.
The supposed "lies" here are the ones concocted by the White House and credited to Wilson. It is their smear tactics and they seem to have worked on those uninformed on the subject.
Jim, you are right. Give them time and they will come up with some junk from the 9/11 report or joint congressional hearing or some such. Totally off topic. Whatever it takes to defame a challenger. The question is was Iraq trying to by yellow cake..specifically in Niger. The answer is NO. Anything else is a different disscussion completely.
"Where does it show Rove told anyone anything?"
Thats why we have Mr. Fitzgerald game. To find out who, but I am sure if he files indictments he will become a slimy weasel too. Just like anyone else who challenges their supreme power.
see, you just to conclusions and attack...
I don't know anything about Fitzgerald...but I know the D.O in TX is a political hack..
If Fitz is a legit guy and finds stuff on anyone, then they go down...
The lame game does not want to know what happened. It is easier to believe the drug addict and echo the propaganda. The Donkey knows it is a matter of time before most realize he has no intention of learning anything. While the eagles soar, the parrots jibber.
The game never answered why he is too good to join the military.
Ron...do you now see who it is on your blog who can not talk with intelligence...it is clear now who the hater is...
Ron...you should be ashamed to associate with the donkey...it makes you look really bad.
"Do not Hate the player, hate the game." The donkey is amused this phrase is popular with the young people. The game seems a bit stressed lately, will he make his students do extra push ups tomorrow?
The Donkey does not hate cowards, it does not tolerate them well. The Donkey should be a more forgiving type. That is not going to happen any time soon
Game,
Are you ashamed of Stephanie Rose on your blog? She is certainly no better than the donkey. Why do you associate with her?
steph might go to far sometimes...but she makes good points...that can not be said for donkey
and why is it always okay for the Left to excuse bad behavior by saying someone else is doing it too
The point is game that will certainly NOT be a legit guy when he challenges the administration. Name one person who has attacked the administration that hasn't been portrayed as a liar or slimeball. It's they way they do things. You mean you haven't figured that out yet!? Either that or change the topic from what is happening now to what someone else did. It's pure M. O. Modus Operandi. And pure propaganda.
Game, many also ask me why I associate with you. I associate with all kinds of interesting personalities.
Game,
Evey accusation against the right is met with Clinton did it or Clinton was worse. Don't try to claim that that is the left's tactic and not the right's.
Why would the game think the Donkey is on the left? What statement has ever has the Donkey posted that could be considered leftist? Why would the Donkey think the game will ever answer why he will not join the military?
The Texas prosecutor being a political hack. Right wing talking point. I have not read a lot about the DeLay scandal OR the Texas prosecutor, but from what I have read, something like 10 or 12 of the 15 people he has indicted have been Democrats.
Interesting that Able Danger is kind of in the news again.
I also just read a refutation of the "lying crap." Point by point, and how Andrea Mitchell compounded the lies. Wilson is the guy who Bush I called a hero for getting people out of was it Kuwait or Iraq during Gulf War I.
Aren't you all glad I am back?!
Jim, it is good to read your info. I am glad SOMEONE finally got it through to the game that once Novak exposed Valerie Plame, her cover was irrevocably blown. What she did after that did not matter.
ALSO, the whole idea that her neighbors knew she worked at the CIA (if they did, and If I remember correctly the lawyer who lived next door said he didn't,) EVEN IF she worked at the CIA, that does not mean she was a CIA operative. She could have been a janitor or a secretary or someone else who simply had the meaningless job of a worker in a bureaucratic organization. I would imagine MOST workers at the CIA don't have access to much of the "classified" information in the organization they work for.
The arguments about her and Joe are so bogus! The relevant point is that when Joe Wilson tried to point out that the Administration LIED, they came after him to destroy him. And it was fine with them that they destroyed his wife's career as a part of their effort to punish him.
Are they perfect people?? I doubt it. SO WHAT!! What does that have to do with anything? Joe Wilson's article was TRUE. THAT is what matters.
