Mr. Game, I would like to ask you to humor me and join me in a little experiment in democracy.
I have noted the harsh tone on both sides. I think it comes from looking at our differences. How much could we do by finding our similarities and working out from there? If you decide to participate..thank you.

First game:
Which statement do you find more agreement with:

A. This country should be of,by and for the people. The 90% should have power over the 10% of ceos, corporate titans and global corporate power and money.

B. These rich people got there by hard work. They are qualified to lead. Besides some people just aren't smart enough to deserve to vote.

Now this is just the begining of the game so all I want is A or B. No explaination, nothing. Just A or B. We will go from there.

I feel honored!!!
Jim, recruit all these guys to my blog...I love having Ron and Jim there...even though there feelings get hurt from time to time...

That reminds me, Ron, you have not been there for awhile...

I agree with most of B. Hard work can get you ahead in this country...everyone should believe that. Yes, some minorities and poor have to work harder and get less for their hard work...but I would say I was born into the very middle of the middle class..and I worked hard for what I have. I see so many in the inner city make excuses and blame everyone else for their problems. They have LOTS of problems, and some are not their fault. But what is better? Blaming everyone and giving up? Let the government give me the bare minimum to survive?

I will never lower the standards I set for my kids (that I teach). To me, that would be giving up on them and accepting that they are not good enough to make it...many of them are good enough, but have so much accepted failure and terrible role models around them that they get sucked in.

I don't agree that some people aren't smart enough to DESERVE to vote...obviously liberals think that they are to stupid to have an ID, that is why they oppose voter ID bills. I do believe that if someone doesn't know anything about the issues they SHOULDN"T vote...there is a difference.

Statement A is just simplistic, happy time, unrealistic nonsense. There are ALWAYS going to be people in charge with the power, and many people needed to do all the work...I am one of the workers.

Well game I see your first problem. You cant follow instructions!! You gotta play this game right to make it work! :-)

But since you have jumped ahead we will go from here. I agree mostly with A as I refuse to believe in an elitist class in charge. I'm not saying everyone has to be the same, obviously it takes all kinds to make the world go round, but people should be able to make or dispose of laws as they effect the regular person. Not as to the moneyed interests are effected.

Here's where I would agree with you.

Hard work and conscientious work should be a hallmark of our country.

Victims never get anywhere.

I don't oppose ID bills

Now....follow instructions my friend! :-). Tell me where if anywhere you could AGREE with what I said. Only the stuff you agree on!!!!!!!!!!!!

Others if you would like to jump in tell us where you would agree with game. Only where you would agree. If you are a conservative where you would agree with Ron. Remember. This is only agree!!!

Frank Hudson died. His son in law called the show on the day of his funeral. Frank was a great American who will be missed on the show. No one will ever fill the void he left.

The Maniacs are not calling or posting . Some of that story is in the comments sections.

The Donkey is working during the Radio show. When the show went after 11:00, the donkey could call in during his lunch break. Most days the Donkey hears a few minutes of the show at best.

Laws should definitely be written in the best interests of the majority of Americans. I get turned off when I think you are saying that evil big corporations dictate all laws...

I agree that the is WAY to much money pumped into elections...you can thank Feingold and McCain for adding to that...therefore I'm sure many laws and bills are not passed with the thoughts of all Americans in mind...

Actually, now I am getting really pissed about how messed up the whole thing is...I have to stop before I get too depressed.

Oh, and it sees as though the rest of the people on your site can not do anything but spew hate and name calling...your experiment will fail for that reason...

Jim is an exception, but he comes to my site all the time and hangs in there despite some harsh words thrown at him...I can't bring myself to restrict speech, however I did make a comment today about an unfair comment directed at all liberals....so there

Blogger The Game said...

the thing Jim quoted as agreeing with is true...adn it sucks that it is true...but it's no reason for minorities to just give up and put the hand out and complain while they do it....

(I did not mean to say EVERYONE does that...but I think stats can prove a MAJORITY do) Just off the top of my head...70 percent of black males in Milwaukee are unemployed...I will not accept the notion that racism causes that to happen at such a high number...stat can be found somewhere in the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel...

12:43 AM, October 09, 2005
Blogger Ron said...

Thanks jim, you seem to understand the game. No one else seems to get it ..even game himself. As a matter of fact it seemed to be driving him to destraction just to THINK about agreeing with something the liberals might feel. Right game? Could never let a statement stand on its own. Had to detail everything.I notice the liberals didn't seem to anxious to find agreement with game either.

My intent was to first find which "side" then why, then agreements and then details of agreements to produce something we could at least somewhat agree on.
I think we will never put this country together again unless we feel common cause and the ability to effect our lives again through politics. I guess it shouldn't be a shock to me that their are some who have already submitted the ideal ,willingly ,to the power elite, and seem to be quite comfortable with it by the way.Frankly it proves that there is more desire for individual liberty in my stand than the rights'..or at least this particular right. Game, your description sounds much more like an Aristocracy than a Democracy. Look up the word in the dictionary and then look at your answers. I guess we get the reality we deserve.
So what does that tell us? It says to me that the two sides don't even WANT to find agreement. That used to be the hallmark of melting pot democracy. Methinks Iraq isn't the only country headed for a civil war.

Game, next question...who is dictating the laws these days and how? And what DOES cause the Black milwaukee males to be less driven than others?

"Actually, now I am getting really pissed about how messed up the whole thing is...I have to stop before I get too depressed."

I think lots of us could agree with that statement.

It used to be that hard work would get you ahead. Now, it's not certain that hard work will even enable a person to survive. Was talking to Linda today who had just spoken to a friend in Detroit. This friend's boyfriend or husband, sister, and someone else had just been laid off, so that people who would work for less could take their places. Would not be surprised if these were temp workers. With healthcare as high as it is, the idea is to hire temp workers and let them go just shy of 90 days so they won't be eligible for benefits.
Also, I agree with The Game about voter I.D.s and I am a Liberal Democrat. As I keep saying, I'm from the Dairy State, originally, and I expect to have to show my I.D. to vote. However, one I.D. with a photo should be sufficient and that goes for minority voters in the South, too!
Re: the inner city folks in Milwaukee, etc.-well, part of it is learned helplessness, part of it is economic disadvantage, and a lot of it is the matriarchal culture where there are so few good male role models. Kids do need to be taught that they can make it out of the inner city, (and hopefully they will return to help other kids make it out). The unwed mother thing is a bad thing, too, and that goes for the Southwest, too. Girls need to be empowered to believe that they don't need to have a boyfriend to be worth something. They go looking for love, end up pregnant in their teens, keep their children and usually end up raising them alone because their boyfriends can't or won't take responsibility. The cycle continues and it's considered normal to have kids out of wedlock and abnormal to consider adoption as an option. The girls need to have strong role models that encourage them to get educations and not start having children in their teens.
Other than this-Can we consider this a blog within a blog or the "no wolf zone"? If so, even Democats should probably avoid the no-wolf zone and stay out of trouble.

Game, I guess that slap at McCain/Feingold..as correct as it may or maynot be threw me off the only agreeing thing. My goal is to eliminate as much debate as possible and understand what we might all agree on.We could go from there in actually moving the country out of the mud in a way that is benificial to the most of us. It's like the "welfare" thing. I think there are people that game the system. Why would someone do this. Lazy? uninspired? Hopeless? What is it that makes people that work and enjoy it feel that way? How can we transfer this to the people that need to go to work?
This is the greatest country in the world because of its people. The people are going to have to move it forward cuz God knows the politicans arent.

If you insist that I have called you names or "beat you up" I will insist that you either:

I totally believe that children need FATHERS, or failing that good male role models. Kudos to you for being a teacher, especially in the inner city. Teaching is NOT glorified babysitting like ignorant people believe. It is a very demanding profession and teachers are too often underpaid and underappreciated. I do feel that you may have become somewhat jaded and hope that you will regain whatever idealism led you to teach poor children. They desperately need good teachers.

Well, he's teaching Health which could be a problem as that is a science and the Bushies don't believe in Science.
Seriously, gotta wonder if that means he's teaching kids about reproduction (sex ed) and whether birth control can be mentioned or just abstinence.
Game, what do you think on this subject? I believe in teaching kids to be abstinent, but because I am practical I think they should be able to get birth control/condoms, also, if they insist on being sexually active.

2:32 PM, October 13, 2005
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Why did Game insult me on Coffee Table instead of answering my question about sex ed?
Here's two more for him. As a teacher, does he believe that children are being left behind or that Bush is giving enough money to fund education? What about standardized testing? It has its place, but should there be so much emphasis on it? After all, teachers are trained to assess their students, aren't they? I think this is a good way to fork over much moola to the corporations that create and market these tests and contribute so much to GOP campaigns. How much better it might be to spend more money to increase teachers' salaries, repair buildings, buy new textbooks/library books/computers, provide money for arts education and field trips, etc. What is The Game's opinion on these matters?

Sorry ron...I'm tired of the law question...it is very unimportant..is that a word?...

anyway...the answer to your black male questions would really take about two days to write...there is no simple answer...that is the problem...it is not just one issue..

I'll alteast try to list some issues...
1. They live in a world with no role models..
2. they live in a welfare state that teaches them to be lazy...that work is not worth it..
3. they are taught by black leaders that everyone is racist toward them, they are the victim, and they they have no shot in this world...some of that might be true, but not worth dwelling on because they can't change it.
4. they are taught that school and hard work suck, just try to scam and work as hard as you can to do no work.
5. School is not important
6. gettin paid the easiest way possible is awesome
7. America sucks
8. fucking everyone you can and having as many babies that you will never take care of makes you a man

I think those are enough road blocks to ponder for now..

Anonymous Anonymous said...

OK, Game, I would like to hear your ideas on the sex ed issue. I totally agree with the compromise and the emphasis on abstinance. Having grown up during the "free love" 70s when aside from pregnancy the worst thing that could happen is to have to take a few shots of penicillin (sp?) I realize how lucky I was and have tried to teach my kids to wait, with mixed results. AIDS/HIV, herpes, and other STDs are major threats beyond pregnancy. I don't think most teens have the maturity to protect themselves against this. They think they're immortal and "it can't happen to me" is the prevailing attitude. Besides that, there's the emotional component, esp. for girls who are generally looking for love/affection rather than physical release. When the affair ends, they are devestated and too often left with a baby to raise on their own.

It is a good point that there is a huge emotional component to sex...something I try and cover but do not think it is very effective.

Abstinence is not a religious message, it is a public health message ...my students are apart of a group that has the highest rate of teen pregnancy, STD's infections and the lowest graduation rate of any group in the country. I know exactly what I am talking about...I have researched hundreds of journals and articles, searched the CDC website for all my statistics...and have quoted over 40 sources so far...and I am not even done with chapter two...

in a real thesis there are five chapters, but if you even have a masters you probably took the easy way out and have not idea what I am talking about.

And don't come back with "how do you know me, you don't know me" lets hear how great your education is...I'll put mine up against yours...

Hey Lame game;
In response to your racist remarks:

Are you always this ignorant, or are you making a special effort today? Well, you're certainly thoughtless; The Donkey just wishes that you were keyboard-less, too. To quote Martin Luther King, Jr.: "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

You have that certain nothing. Maybe you wouldn't come across as such a yellow mental midget if you weren't living proof that stupid people should not post. And what meaning do you expect your delusional self-important statements of unknowing, inexperienced opinion to have with us? What fantasy do you hold that you would believe that your tiny-fisted tantrums would have more weight than that of a leprous desert rat, spinning rabidly in a circle, waiting for the bite of the snake?

Maybe you wouldn't be such a Jerk-In-The-Box if you weren't an 'idiot savant' without the 'savant' part; You are deficient in all that lends character. You are asinine and benighted. You are the source of much unpleasantness. You spread misery and sorrow wherever you go.

May you choke on your own foolish opinions. You are a pusillanimous galactophage.

The Donkey cannot believe how incredibly stupid you are. The Donkey means rock-hard stupid. Dehydrated-rock-hard stupid. Stupid so stupid that it goes way beyond the stupid we know into a whole different dimension of stupid. You are trans-stupid stupid. Meta-stupid. Stupid collapsed on itself so far that even the neutrons have collapsed. Stupid gotten so dense that no intellect can escape. Singularity stupid. Be aware of who you talk to before you talk to them and how, and beware of what you say. You might find yourself in your own boat floating out at sea.

My mother holds her master's in special education reading, and in Art History 1A (THE most difficult subject to gain a master's degree in).

4) No one should respond to insults. On either side. Neither should anyone fling them.

Now, shall we get down to true debate, or shall we sit here and throw the GWB testosterone around?

Oh yeah, rule #5: Stick to the subject. Anything at all outside of it should not be, nor will it be from my end, answered.

Jeez Louise Game, where did you misplace your sense of humor? The thing about Health being a science (true) and the Bushies not believing in Science was a joke. Lighten up!

Contrary to what Ron said on the show, at least one person is trying to do what he wanted us to do on this part of the blog-ask Game questions and engage in debate with him. Hope you noticed, Ron.

Testosterone is not a bad thing. The lame game seems to lack the proper amount. The Donkey understands there is treatment for such a health condition.

Donkey,
By wrong amount, do you mean too much or too little. Both could be a problem. Too much, certainly leads to aggression and war mongering, which is why matriarchal societies have always been more peaceful than patriarchal ones.
I do not know how much testosterone The Game has and I do not care. However, we may have to organize a search party to help him locate his missing sense of humor.

To the Democat :

You ruined the post. The donkey was trying to see how the game would interpet it. You read the question and thought before you posted. It can be understood one way or another.

Now that you are smart enough to catch a trick post, Please do not tip off the lame game next time. He may say he does not read the posts of the Donkey, but the Donkey knows differently. He is drawn to the Donkey's posts like a moth to a flame.

Did you ever wonder what a child of condi Rice and the Game would look like?

Well, sorry about that, Donkey. Didn't mean to step on your "hooves"-smile. No, never crossed my mind to think about what a child of Condi and Game would look like and I don't want to know what a child of Condi and Bush (more likely) would look like. Condi doesn't have kids, to my knowledge, and I don't remember if Game said he does or not. Still think Game needs help looking for his missing sense of humor. He takes himself and his Party way too seriously. Even HIS President and VP are capable of laughing at themselves sometimes(as are we-ha).

Bush met Rice 29 years ago. How old is the game? This would answer some questions.

Donkey, You are too good! Smile face! Many of your comments make my day. Unlike The Game, you have not lost YOUR sense of humor.

Let's see. I would guess the Game to be no less than 31 years old...

No wonder. LMAO.

And, no more than that, either. LOL.

So much for actual experience.

Just read an article re: some CA based group that is hiring math/science teachers to tutor American high school kids on-line. Don't have the info w/me so will get more specific later. But guess where the TEACHERS are? India!! That's right, Game. At some point in the future all kids may be taught on-line and even YOUR job will be outsourced to India!
