Saw this comment on trying to discuss issues with the right.

It's not about evidence. It's about propagandists like Krauthammer wasting people's time and energy by making them jump through one hoop after another. Spend some time engaging in what passes for debate among the right and you'll see what I mean. It's not about making an argument or advancing a position - it's about overwhelming your opponent with BS requests and demands until they get tired of the crap and give up.

That's it!

What's a great topic? Relationships? Yuk? Hope the pragamatic cat hating DJ at least looked at my responses-no need to respond, himself.
Also, did Ron forget to eat breakfast before talking to Linda? Certainly hope that was his STOMACH growling while she was talking about Cheney. Would not want to think he was mocking one of his fans and not taking her comments seriously. :-(

Gosh, Linda, the things you say sometimes. I think that you might be drinking too much of that aloe vera juice. Apparently, it's starting to cause some really weird side effects. LOL
Oh well, we're friends, so I'll forgive you. :-)
Talking about relationships is not the same thing as talking about having a relationship w/someone. Speaking of the Dandy Lion ( Leo is a lion, in other words-a cat!), I put a final response on the other coffee table-this discussion is so over!
Kudos to Lonna for calling in and defending Teresa Kerry after that idjit conservative got done criticizing her. God forbid that we should have a highly intelligent, well educated, cosmopolitan first lady who speaks five languages, has won all kinds of honorary degrees and awards, including the Albert Schwietzer Gold Medal for Humanitariansim, and devotes her time to working for the rights of women, children, minorities, education, the arts, and the protection of the environment. One of the neat things about John Kerry is that he respects women enough to let his wife speak her mind and many voters out there loved Teresa Kerry! I think Laura Bush is a nice person, but she is a Stepford wife. If she even tries to say anything other than the Party line, the neo-cons shut her up.
It might have been nice if the host had given Teresa something more than a lukewarm defense. (What's that sound? A giant vaccuum cleaner? No, it's just the sound of the host sucking up to the conservative and Republican callers. :-( )

On second thought, maybe it's the sound of cheering. "The Hammer" has decided not to run for re-election in his district. Yes!!! 'Course it would be difficult to represent his district and be House Majority Leader from a prison cell. (We hope!!) :-)

actually all she said when I asked her why she didn't like her was,she's a foreginer. Not an arguable point.Not a very strong one either. That's why I'm the host and you're the listener, I actually hear what they say. That particular matter doesn't bother me and many other people. If it bothers her so be it. I'm saving my battles for the important stuff....I'd like to see big dick cheney go down first but delay would certainly be my second choice. little outta is ok. I like the rest of your list too. Let's hope Nick Lamson can become the next rep of sugarland.

What do you all think about the comment on arguing with the wingnuts? Jumped through a hoop lately?

As a supporter of Second Amendment rights, The Donkey can tell you that this is the provision in this act which has gun owners extremely upset.

The Donkey insist that language is
inserted to protect 4473's and other gun records from BATFE snooping.

The USA has very liberal gun ownership laws. The Donkey has some shopping to do. Where in Roswell can the the Donkey pick up his medications, a gallon of whiskey, a jar of petroleum jelly and a shotgun all in one trip? The Donkey's farvorite store starts with a W.

Not liking Teresa Kerry because she's a foreigner is only one reason why so much of the world thinks of us as the "ugly Americans". Teresa was born in Mozambique, but has been a citizen of the U.S. for 30 or 40 years, probably. Besides that, there's no requirement that the First Lady must be born in the U.S. People who think like this are the most likely to be disdainful of intellectuals and anything considered cultural. This lady probably would have hated Jackie Kennedy, too, although Jackie was born here.
Re: the law about not saying offensive things on the blogs, there are rules on Yahoo for the message boards, but not many people pay attention. If the Feds decide to arrest everyone who criticizes this Administration on-line, where will they find enough prison space? I, too, believe it's an attempt to supress pubic criticism of Bush, Cheney, etc.
At any rate, no more fun for me and The Donkey since teasing, constructive criticism, etc. is out. :-( Whatever liberal talk shows that are on will probably be next.
I doubt that I can refrain from criticizing Bush, so probably better for me to just listen and read. I don't add too much of value to the blog or the show, tho I do believe in the latter and will continue to advertise it at our protests.
