The Condition Of Today's Representative Government

Yep, It's on a darned liberal media site. It's Pete Starks take on the Washington world and reality. Bless you Pete. Many may disagree but I think you are a fresh breeze in a world of misdirection, deceiving and corporate control. Sample--- On Democrats aren't doing anything either..Don't have any ideas.

It will get ignored by the Republicans. Unless they decide to have a hearing or study it, it will be nothing more than a good policy statement. Or it could become a plank in a campaign. But it's not likely to get serious consideration by the House. There are 10,000 bills introduced every year, so I can't say, gee, you ought to take each of my bills and have a hearing, and let it go through the process. But I would tell you that virtually no Democratic bills are given consideration. That is not the way we operated here in the past, when the Democrats were in control.

I know conservative minds may be polluted with liberal speech but it is worth a read. He's a congressman and he's in Washington. This is his take, right or wrong.

I've got to tell you Ron, for all of my "conservative views" and "anti-liberalism" Pete Starks still strikes a chord with me.

Here is a great quote I just got from a movie: "There is no good or evil, only power." These Representatives and Senators do not care about us, they care about power. They want re-election and will do whatever it takes to make sure their image gets them that re-election. Our representative governement spends so much time trying to gain and consolidate power it is a wonder anything gets done. That is why we are overrun with ineffective social programs and budgetary waste. Taking responsibility away from Americans makes you look good.

Frankly the dems did some strong arming and power plays when they had the power too. The pubs have just taken it to the next step/phase, whatever you want to call it. I am one in favor of a couple more parties so one would have to build a consensus to move things forward. There is already a couple more just waiting to spring forth. In the Repub. party you have the traditional conservatives and the religo-facist/corporate wing. In the Democrats you have the Corporate/republite group and the grassroots/populists. Divide em up and give us all a choice.
