Lions and Tigers and....Cartoons, Oh MY!

Read full Story Here. The intolerance and growing fascism from the fanatic God people has taken us forward...into the past, way past, like the dark ages. The latest, a blast at the movie "Shrek".

Shrek 2 is billed as harmless entertainment but contains subtle sexual messages," the coalition says on its website of the movie, a popular DVD rental. The group describes itself as a grassroots inter-denominational lobby with more than 43,000 member churches.
"Parents who are thinking about taking their children to see Shrek 2 may wish to consider the following."
The article then proceeds to describe one of the characters, an "evil" bartender (voiced by Larry King) who is a male-to-female transgender in transition and who expresses a sexual desire for Prince Charming.
In another identified scene, Shrek and Donkey need rescuing from a dungeon by Pinocchio and his nose, which is made to extend as an escape bridge by getting the wooden boy to lie about not wearing women's underwear.

Ok, is this harmless goofy fun or secret "gay indoctrination". Lets ask some others like Milton Berle who regularly dressed in womens clothes in search of a laugh. Or maybe Sid Caesar or Johnny Carson or Flip Wilson as Geraldine. How about Laurel and Hardy who were occasionally know to share a bed on film. I guess those were the bad ol days. Now is the time we can hope to raise our children with no hint of anything "religiously offensive." Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't all this "moral" brew ha ha turning in to the right wing version of politic correctness? Hey, I'm in favor of a certain amount of civility, and free expression in the appropriate places, but it seems to me its getting far enough out of line to start fighting back. I think these people are really a bunch of sadly sick people with serious sexual hangups. Far worse hangups than the people they disparage. Have you ever noticed that they always equate their "moral" values with things that have to do in some way with sex? Whether it be gays or abortion or birth control or porn...its always about sex, sex, sex. Where's the outrage when movies and television pump out gratuitous violence, anger, hate and "getting even". No, the people that "kick ass" are reviered! Don't moral values have more to do with love and tolerance? I guess we just happen to be of different religions or something. I'm not sure what God these people are listening to...it sure ain't mine! Who would Jesus hate? By the way, I'm in favor of sex...I think...Hard to remember that far back. (G)

In answer to your question, well, it is just harmless goofy fun, aimed at the mentality of young kids. If you really want young kids to laugh, just write in a scene where someone farts. The TVC can bill itself as anything it wants to, but they have about as much credulity as Roseanne Barr to me, and probably to most other Americans. Coming up with goofy hypothesis like this only damages their standing in the eyes to rational folks, especially to those millions of mothers and father who took their kids for the 3rd time running to see the flick.

Personally, I won't go see a flick unless it has gratuituous violence or sex, preferably both.
