Rush is Right?

It appears the "Truth Detector" is in need of a rechargable battery.
From the Palm Beach Sun-Sentinel:

The court battle over Limbaugh's medical records has crippled the criminal investigation into his drug use for more than a year. Investigators seized the records after learning that Limbaugh received about 2,000 painkillers, prescribed by four doctors in six months, at a pharmacy near his Palm Beach mansion. They contend that Limbaugh engaged in ``doctor shopping,'' or illegally deceived multiple doctors to receive overlapping prescriptions.Limbaugh has maintained his innocence throughout the investigation and argues that the case threatens the privacy rights of all Floridians _ a point which has drawn the support of the American Civil Liberties Union. Limbaugh has acknowledged he became addicted to pain medication, blaming it on severe back pain. In October 2003, he took a five-week leave from his afternoon radio show to enter a rehabilitation program. __

More blantant hypocrisy on the right. I never get to listen to Rush Limbaugh because I am doing my own radio thing at the time. I have no idea what his rationalizations are. Maybe someone could fill me in? Why is he so interested in HIS PERSONAL privacy but still fine with the government interfering with other Americans privacy in parts of the Patriot Act?
Why would he like to lock up the drug users and scum of the earth but remain wish free when he appears to have violated the drug laws. What's the big coverup?
When talking about violations of our freedom I often hear conservatives say "if you have nothing to hide it shouldn't be a problem". Suddenly Rush Limbaugh is fighting to avoid letting the law find out how "innocent" he is. For the record, I'm in favor of privacy but opposed to hypocrisy. If he is going to stand for HIS freedom he ought to stand for OURS too. That includes all violations of our constitutional rights to privacy, not just the ones that happen to effect him. If he wants to solve his drug problem with treatment(my educated guess is 5 weeks didn't get him far at all) why shouldn't he support this for others with a drug problem. He was fortunate he was wealthy and didn't have to steal or commit other crimes related to his addiction. My friends, some are not that fortunate. Usually you figure when one gets a chance to "walk a mile in my shoes" one would "get" it. Apparently the rules only apply to those "other" people. You know, the ones that are really harming America. Geez, what planet do these people come from!?

Yes, Rush is a stupid, hypocritical fat fuck. He should be prosecuted, and he should admit his wrongdoing. Americans tend to be very forgiving, but intolerant of blatent hypocricy.

Hi Ron,

Let me see...a liberal-leaning blogger located in Roswell, NM.

Do my eyes deceive me? Is this a ploy?

Rush...has been lying to our country, encouraging bigotry, for what? Fifteen years now?

He's a republican hack to the core.

Thanks for turning me on to your site.

I'll try to stop in more often.

Rougy
