Notes on Iraq

This is a good example of how upside down the world is.
BAGHDAD: Iraq has doubled the money allocated for importing oil products in August and September to tackle the country's worst fuel shortage since Saddam Hussein's 2003 ouster, a senior Iraqi official has said. Even though Iraq has the world's third-largest proven oil reserves, it is forced to depend on imports because of an acute shortage of refined products like gasoline, kerosene and cooking gas.

Do you think this is pulling the people we are trying to liberate to our side? I can hear the rightists say "Hey this isn't our fault, they need to quit fighting with each other and blowing stuff up!" True statement, but as we instigated all this we are being held responsible and if you aren't part of the solution you are part of the problem. Stay the course doesn't cut it anymore. Without leadership and a bold plan Americans will continue to die for Iraq. We have no way out under the current plan. I have no idea how those that say "when we leave..." , be it under a time line or not I see no different results. Iran with their large shite population is a natural ally. So now do we go to war with Iran too!!>???? Then do we get caught up warring with Moslem populations around the globe? Is this the America you believe in? We need bold visionary leadership not someone who is stuck in the stone age of the fight on terrorism. A new type of threat means new ways to fight it. We need allies in this fight not more enemies. We especially need the Moslems who mean us no harm and would like to live peacefully on our side. Invoking war on all Moslem countries will doom those people to the other side.

Here is some more reading on the issue:

Did you know that the radical right thinks nukes is the answer. They think we don't only because it would invoke negative public opinion, and we ought to get over it. Lord I hope that is not the only reason we don't use them.

We are getting ready for a rerun of Iraq. Cheney has decided he only wants the intelligence that says what he wants it to say again.

We should be concerned about this
and everything else touched by
our American Caligula. See:

W is what he has always been and
probably always will be:
mean-spirited, spoiled brat.
And many of his supporters are
just as amoral.

Larry, for an example of his amoral supporters see the post above this one.

How such a miserable failure can be anything admired for anything or be listened to for a good idea is astounding to me. Stay the course and lose your country!!!!!

What gets me, is with the way his ratings have been, I think it's obvious that no one is falling for Dubys's b.s.

Yet we have at least two sites that I know of in full support of him????????? Makes no sense.

What about what's right for the people of the USA?

Dedanna, 2!!!??? Shit I can find you a dozen or two. That is why it is so scary. There are that many people who don't get it yet. America goes downhill worldwide and they can't envison it as a reality. The same ol plan and fear and "need" to take over one country after the next. HUmmm wonder what might be in the realm of things that could be happening here. Is this "the defining idealogical battle of the 21st century"? Lets see the century is 6 years old so it might be a little early to declare that?
