From "The War" by Deborah Chiel
"...'That's what my nightmare has been about for two years,' Stephen continued, almost as if he hadn't heard what Stu said. 'To forgive myself. To pardon my country. I can't tell you never to fight. But, if you want to know what I think, I think the only thing that truly keeps people safe and happy, is love. I think that's where men find their courage. That's where countries get their strength. And that's where God grants us miracles. And in the absence of love, there's nothin' in this world worth fightin' for.'..."
"...'My mama says, people's lives are like tapestries. The color and the beauty of the design depend on all the people you know and the things you've learned. What I learned this summer is that no matter how much people think they understand war, war will never understand people. It's like a big machine that don't nobody really know how to work-and once it gets out of hand, it winds up wreckin' all the things you thought were worth fightin' for, and a whole bunch of other good things you sort of forgot that you had.'..."

Thanksgiving Question for The Game-
Re: Bush pardoning the White House turkey
Wouldn't that be the first time a U.S. President has ever pardoned himself?

Re: today's show.
Wow! We had an "insane" wacky "know it all" host,
"The Maniac", and "The Lunatic"*.
Where were all the other callers? Sleeping? They're supposed to do that AFTER they eat the turkey!

* As a "moonchild", I'm expected to be a "lunatic", so now, Ron has been forewarned not to pick up the phone and talk to me during the full moon, as I might say anything. The rest of the month is bad enough! :-)

Happy Thanksgiving to all the bloggers!!

Also, Re: 2 things my Republican sister-in-law sent me.
One was about a veteran's hospital that Denzel Washington visited and wrote a sizable check to. Kudos to Denzel!! However, the writer went on to complain about how these kind of things never get reported by the Liberal media while the anti-war messages from Madonna, Sean Penn, etc. do.
The other thing was about wearing red on Fridays to support the troops. Fine, with me because I and all of the people I know that hate this oil war still support the troops. However, there was more of that simpleminded cr*p in the vein of if you're against Bush and the neo-cons and their oil war, you're against the troops. Jesus save us from these braindead idjits!! Right?
I suggest that people wear red T-Shirts that say:
"Support the Troops/Impeach Bush and Cheney" on Fridays.

Are the so called "right wing Christians" rewriting the Bible according to Bush and Cheyney??? Throughout this magnificant literary work there are almost inumerable pieces of text that DO NOT CONDONE WAR/HATE!!!
In II Chronicles King David admits that being a man of war, he is guilty of murder and no longer fit in God's eyes to lead anymore, the reins of humanity are then handed to his son, King Solomen...
Jesus the Christ renders teachings as clear as day. He states that man can not serve two gods...
He also advises humanity to render unto Caesar what belongs to Ceasar and unto God what belongs to God...

Where then is the case for war stated in the Bible? Exactly, there is no case for any war, never mind a preemptive one based on lies, oil, greed and money!!!
All of which the left has been claiming all along...when the truth is revealed and people chose not to adhere to it, they then assume a level of responsibility themselves for the unecessary deaths attributed to this chaos of lies and hate, all of which are motivated by personal greed and control for power...

The Mesopotamian Valley has been ref to as the cradle of civilization, waring between tribes was and will be a normal way of life in the region. The United States at this moment in history can not even assist its own people during a natural disaster. Why then are so many lives being expended in this nonsense the administration of lies has labeled the fight for democracy???

Look to our local levels of government right now and examine the prejudice, the discrimination, the hate that prevails from one race to another, from one gender to another and from one religion to another...look to the breakdown of our family systems...do you see a President Bush or a Vice-Pres. Cheyney interveneing for the good of our homesteads and our society???

God Bless America indeed, but may God help America in this time of awful man-made greed...

Kudos to Diane for this and I agree. The rightwingers may not be rewriting the Scriptures, but they are certainly twisting them to their own purposes. Personally, I believe that if the Anti-Christ is an organization rather than a person, that it is The Christian Coalition (or PNAC). The former started out around 1980 when Reagan was elected to take control of government at all levels, starting with local government and working their way up. They did this by supporting rightwing candidates financially and otherwise and urging the evangelicals to vote for them in order to advance these so called family value positions they have re: gays, abortion, etc. What better way to pave the way for the Anti-Christ than by using the Christian religion to brainwash and manipulate voters into giving these yahoos all the power. It's a scary scary world out there now.

Hope all the bloggers had a
Happy Thanksgiving, even The Game! :-) Mine was OK, we had ham instead of turkey, so I guess, it was the Chardonney I drank that put me to sleep. ;-) Listened to Ron on KSFX while we ate-(guess, he didn't get the day off, after all).
Did anyone see the big article/photo in the RDR on the breakup of Jessica and Nick? Oh, boo hoo. Not! Can not believe the so called Liberal media can't find something better to write about than a no talent dumb-blonde Bush supporter from TX who does NOTHING to make the world a better place (unless shopping counts!). Why not stories about Anglina and her refugee work, Sting/Bono/Don Henley and their environmental and human rights work, Sir Paul McCartney and his wife and their activism, Martin Sheen and his nuclear disarmament work, etc.? I could care less what Britney and Jessica shopped for recently or about their marital ups and downs. But, it's all about whatever sells the most newspapers/magazines-right? Digusting!!

Speaking of disgusting, saw a headline on Yahoo News re: some Senator who wants The Bu$hrat to use fireside chats, probably to improve his popularity rating which is in the sewer (so appropriate).
What is this? This is like when the so called Liberal media kept showing him coming out of a plane with a scottie like he was FDR. (The Bu$h Family hated/hates the Roosevelts.) Do these people think Americans are stupid or what? OK, I admit the 33%/19% who do support The Bu$rat and Ol' Snake Eyes are. They couldn't wake up and smell the coffee if it spilled all over 'em. I doubt that much of anything can help them now and
Bu$h can lie as easily in front of a fire as anywhere else.

Sen. Orrin Hatch seems to be stuck in Vietnam. Maybe the game can help him out, since Bush never got near there.
"The Democratic Party seems to be taken over by the Michael Moore contingent in their attitude toward Vietnam, and they continually call for a withdrawal of troops at a time when we haven't finished the job," Hatch said.

Ron was talking about face transplants today (Michael Jackson should consider this and SOON!) and wanted to know whose face the callers would want to have, so thought I'd put this on the blog, too.
Much as I'd love to look like Ingrid Bergman or Vivien Leigh, I don't think that would really work for me. I like the girl next door look, I guess, ala Christie Brinkley, Sally Field (my favorite actress), etc. Dana Delaney who starred in "China Beach" is that type and really pretty, so I think I'd like to look like her.
(I noticed that no one wanted to look like Kelly LeBrock, tho, I guess, I could've said it just to make RON happy. Not!) Re: Ron wanting to look like Jessica Simpson if he was a woman and then razzing Maniac for saying Heddy Lamarr or Vivien Leigh. At least, they weren't Barbie doll Bush supporters, Ron!! Ha! I think I recognize the voice of the guy who wants to look like Brad, tho-very good taste, there. :-)

Some bio info on Kelly LeBrock and Jessica Simpson
Kelly born March 24, 1960 (Aries)
Jessica born July 10, 1980 (Cancer)

Kelly's an Aries? At least, that sign is compatible with a Leo and a Cancer is not, water signs being the opposite of fire signs like Aries, Leo, and Saggitarius. Plus, Kelly is 45 not 25, Ron. Seems like if age is not a factor, you wouldn't ooh and ah over women half your age nearly every time you give examples of really pretty women.
Oh well, whatever turns you on.
:-) Since you like blonde Barbie doll BUSH supporters so much maybe this is why you can't be the liberal's alpha wolf cuz you'd rather be a hound dog! LOL
(I'm just teasing-can you really take it?)
