Now that the election is over

Maybe the Democrats could have done a better job of making their point?

That may be true, although I feel that the real reason Kerry lost is because of the lies and distortions Karl Rove and the GOP (sleaze) attack machine put out (including the Swift Boat Vet lies) playing on the abortion and gay marriage issues, and scaring the sheep into thinking terrorists would attack us if Bush was voted out. Also a lot of the Bushies can't relate to a smart educated candidate (like we should want a stupid President.)
I also think there were enough election irregularities to suspect that the GOP cheated and stole the election-that makes 2. If minorities can be disenfranchised, ballots can be discarded, machines can be rigged w/no paper trail, etc. Democrats may never win again. I'm caucasion, never had a problem voting, but feel that if this can happen my vote will be meaningless. It's sort of like being disenfranchised. We need election reform badly and that should have been done before the 2004 election.
Re: getting the message out. Kerry should have emphasized more that he is personally opposed to abortion although he is pro-choice and believes abortion should be rare. Also that he doesn't support gay marriage. The Democratic Party needs to show that it is the party of Christian values that go beyond gay marriage and abortion. I can't see where the GOP is Christian at all and Bush's proposed budget cuts are a great example of that.
Saw some more trash re: Clinton in the RDR. What is it with these so called Christians that sexual morality is important, but rotten business ethics are ignored? They're just a bunch of modern day Puritanical hypocrites.
Am reading Kitty Kelley's book about the Bush family-talk about corrupt businessmen and politicians. The Bushies who have OD'd on Rush Limbaugh need to read that book-course they'd just call it one more example of the liberal media-right?

I actually heard Phyliss Schafly talk about the "smart" president thing one time. It was when Bill Bradley was running for president and Clinton was finishing. Her thought on Bradley..." I don't think we want another one of those Rhodes Scholars." ??!!?? I did a double take, laughed my ass off and said to myself ,,,self. you're not on her side for a really good reason.
